There are a few bad things goin on with my GSX but i'll start with the boost problem. I dont know what it is but when the motor is cold (just starting it in the morning), i start to drive and when the turbo starts to spool it bogs my car down. Also, it doesnt seem like the turbo is making any difference at all. I know it might be a boost leak but why would it bog like that? The second problem is: one of my casters is bent 2 degrees so my car pulls pretty bad to the left. Will this pose a big problem to performance? In order to fix the caster problem i have to get my frame pulled.... and that costs a lot of money :barf: . I havn't changed the spark plugs/wires as of yet, and a local import shop said my turbo was in good shape. Any conclusions? Thanks.

you probably could correct the left pull by offsetting the toe on one side....

Don't try and play with a temp fix with suspension. Just sell the car and get another one if you can.

As for the boost problem...can't tell you anything till you do the leak test.

my car does that too until it warms up. There is no problem with my vacuum or anything..it just does that until it warms up.. its like the ecu is having problems with the right air/fuel ratio while the temperature is quickly rising...then when it is warm it runs fine..i wouldnt worry about that as long as it boosts normally when warm. :talon:

You guys are telling me to get rid of my car just because it's pulling to the left? Why should that be such a big issue as to sell my car? It can't just be fixed?

i would get the suspension fixed before any other mods. it shouldnt pose too much of a threat depending on how bad it is just take it easy. another problem is you'll start eating tires. what do you mean by "caster" i came from the honda world :thumbdown and they didn't have anything anyone would call a caster. is it something you can replace or is it part of the frame?

http://www.yokohamatire.com/utmeasures.asp This explains caster alignment.

As far as selling your GSX, it's not that straightening the frame isn't possible, but you've said it yourself, it's expensive. If it's to the point where the the cost to straighten out the frame would be as much or more than what it would cost you to pick up another AWD and sell the one you have (even if you sell at a loss), then that's your best option instead of pouring your money into what could be a potential money pit.

They told me it was part of the frame, something that cannot be replaced, but can be fixed with a frame pull. They just told me this when i went in to get my car aligned. Would this in any way cause problems with performance? They also said that it would not eat up my tires, and it hasn't yet, but i think they said its just that one wheel is slightly further toward the front than the other. Does that sound right?

well aside from the suspension problem, I know why youre car isnt running right when cold, becuase most of them dont... for starters you shouldnt boost until the engine si warm anyways, hell it even says that on my sun visor.. but youre problem is probably this; cold engine = lifter tick, boost= higher rpms, higher rpms= more ifter tick on a cold engine, lifter tick = phantom knock, lots of knock read by the sensor, car pulls timing, pulled timing = car goes nowhere, and it feels as though youre 10psi is doing nothing...
dont boost until youre warm, I suggest turning it on and letting it idle for at least a minute before even driving the car, and wait around 3-5 before getting on it.

The reason im concerned about the frame is because i want to begin modifying. Im not concerned about FIXING the bent frame, it's wether or not i can get it back to normal to being modifying. But, would that in any way give me problems with the performance? and would it give me problems with peformance BEFORE i get it fixed? Im just wondering if i should keep this one and modify it, or sell it and find another, because i can eat the price of fixing this one if it is going to return me to normal. The only problem with selling this one is that i would have to sell 2 cars, i have a 3000GT im selling right now as well.

So everyone is saying, fix the problem i have, and it will be just as good as it was to begin with? I'm definately going to go to another shop when i have time, but school and work is taking all my time as of right now.
