Alrighty, so I went to change my transaxle fluid.

I jacked the car up in the front, crawled under and let out the old fluid, capped and moved to the fill plug. I began pumping new fluid into the fill hole. If I understood the factory service manual correctly, the transmission has accepted it's allotted 2.1 qts once it begins spilling out of the fill hole.

Since the car was up in the front, I assumed once I let the car down some should drain out of the fill hole and I will know I'm full.

Well, I put in about 2.7 qts I believe. I bought 3 quarts and spilled a decent amount.

When I set the car back on the ground with the fill plug removed, very little came out (maybe 5 drips). It was about 10* outside. Is that why no more ran out?

I just want to make sure there's enough fluid in there. I had to have put in at least 2.1 quarts.

:hmm:

No manual in front of me but if memory serves me correctly they hold 2.4qts so if you spilled some and a little still came out you should be fine.

If you're certain that over 2 quarts made it into the transmision, you should be fine.

What fluid did you use, just out of curiosity?

AMSOIL synchromesh. It's the fluid Bullett recommends although I know there is a lot of debate.

It's a 402a motor so it's the NV-T350. 2.1 quarts.

Is there any harm if I overfilled? I may just pull the plug next time I have the car jacked and see if any comes out.
