OK this is what i got i found a guy with a fully built motor for sale for 500.00, he said it had eagle crank, eagle rods, wescro pistons, even a new oil pump, so i get o this guys house and seen him just pull it out of his car and sold the whole shout block oil pan, alternator, all he did is take the head off so I'm thinking this is a good deal, he takes the oil pan off so i can see in the block and it is good it has everything that he said would be there rods, pistons, crank, even a BS eliminator kits was in the motor so i take it back to my shop to have it rebuilt and i went up there today and he not sure if they can reuse one of the rods, and pistons, there was some blue makes on the bottom of the rod, i will know more in a few days he said that they will clean them all up and see if they can reuse them, now the reason I'm putting this here is because the guy said the block spurn a rod and just needed to some new bearings and rings, just a rebuild will be good is what he said, when i went up to the shop he found out that the oil pump froze up, so please any input will be help full

If you spun a rod plan on having your crank turned or you will do the same thing all over again.

What the hell did the guy do, build this motor drunk and blind folded?
The blue marks you talk about, I am unsure without a picture.
As for the rod, you can just purchase one, if you need to.

And yes, you will definately need the crank to be turned as mentioned by turbodsm.
Also, if you are not capable of re-building the motor yourself, you should see how much the shop will charge you to assemble it for you.

You can turn it but be careful and have a professional assemble it. We used Eagle cranks in dirt track cars all the time and the quality control is horrible there. I have seen up to .018" variance in journals. You may need more than a couple set of bearings to get it set in spec. If it were me I would go with a stock crank anyways. Just turn that one, sell it and buy a stock one. Way less of a hassle.

As for the rod being blue, it depends on how blue it is. Some can be reconditioned and some can't. I have one reconditioned Eagle in my car and have no problems whatsoever. Any reputable machine shop will be able to tell if it is salvageable or not.
