Not sure if this is the proper place for this post but its kind of along the lines I suppose.

About a month ago I rebuilt an engine for a friend of a friend and have recently gotten all items to finally get it finished up. Last Monday was the first time I fired the 7 bolt (1996) up after the rebuild. Now before I get into the issue Im currently having, the car had to be rebuilt due to a valvetrain laying on the pistons. Timing belt didnt break but whatever cause the problem ended up with cylinders 2&3 valvtrain broken.

Anyway, thats why the rebuild had to take place. After waiting about a month for the machine shop to get done doing their duties to the engine I assembled and installed. Last monday i started it up for the first time and upon starting it revs to about 2k and has a horrible misfire followed by shutting itself down. Wont idle for more then a few seconds and shuts itself off. Most likely the ECU telling it to turn off due to the misfire. Ive double and triple checked that all vac lines are hooked up and all sensors are plugged in. After trying for about two hours double checking everything and going through the obvious things I sent a text to the owner of the car and he replied with "Im going to order new CRANK POSITION, CAM POSITION and TRANSISTOR PACK". This was fine by me and could have potentially been part of the reason. So i waited for the parts to show up from EXTREMEPSI.COM and installed them yesterday.

After spending a couple hours pulling the timing belt cover off and installing the new sensors (Double checking that the timing was correct mechanically) i tried to start the car again and now it wont run at all. Discovered that its not getting any spark now. From what I have read the crank sensor is the culprit in charge of spark but this may not be absolutely true. We do have 12 volts coming to the coil pack and transistor when the key is turned on so im unsure what the problem is.

Has anyone had the same or similar problem? Or does anyone have any suggestions as to what steps to take next? Im stumped at the moment!!

Also, this is a bone stock rebuild with the exception of ARP hardware!!

Going to be pulling the ecu out tonight to give it an overview but just wanted to gather any other ideas of things to check to be sure I have tackled everything it could possibly be. Also, does anyone know if ecmlink.com will look over and repair a non eprom if they do not want link?
