Alright kids, it's now that time of the season where i have money. I NEED a new motor like it's my job so i've been doing some research. I've come down to a few options and i would like your opinions (mods and members).

My goals for this motor are around 350-400whp, with NICE low end. The car is an auto, so that inital off the line snap is necessary.

Option 1, Buy a Block and head from buschur. Then get all necessary gaskets, front case, timing kit, and head studs. Stage one block and head, 400-450hp capable. Cost: around 34-3600

Option 2, Buy a SBR longblock (stage one) and drop the sucker right in. Cost: around 4k

Option 3, Buy a whole forged set-up from buschur or SBR and have my mechanic pull the motor, machine it, and reassemble. Cost w/o labor :1500-2500 (depending on parts)

Option 4, Completely stock rebuild, OR contact a company like Jasper motors for a STOCK 6bolt. Cost: 2200 for motor.

I'd like to hear opinions. Like i said, i'd like around 350-400hp but would really just be content with a well running motor that doesn't poop oil smoke. But like we all say, do it right do it once. I also don't know how feasable a week of downtime on a rebuild would go over. This is my ONLY DD. So yeah, Lets hear what you think everyone.

Please and thank you!

One thing, if you are going to be getting the motor you have in the car rebuilt with forged internals, the turn around time will take a lot longer than a week. The process of building the motor could take a month depending on the status of the builder and the parts. If downtime is an issue i suggest ordering a built block and get the motor swapped in once you have EVERYTHING ready.
As for the configuration of parts you want to put in your car thats up to you and the builder, get your goals in order and make sure thats what you want then build a motor that fits.
Hope this helps, im in the same place right now, my motor popped so im rebuilding with forged internals.

If its the motor in your car?..... You have to pull the motor out, strip it down, get it machined, built, timed and put back in the car. Unless you have a builder that has no other work or have the money to get your work rushed you probably wont get it done in a week.
Im in the same boat as you man, my cars sittin in front of my house, i have a different core block at the machine shop getting all ready while my parts are on their way. My builder is real busy right now and sends out the parts for balancing. So what if the balancing shop is busy too?
Then i need to get the car to the shop to have the motor put in once its built.
If you have a block already prepped and you are going to assemble and swap it yourself, then you can turn it around real fast, but if not then its going to take some time.

Im going to be happy if my car is running by the end of july
