Well, my motor is on its way out and has very low compression so i plan on doing one of the following. Either having my 7 bolt bebuilt and put some stronger rods in and a set of FP2 cam's, or just buy a freshly rebuilt 6 bolt and a set of cam's, i just want some opinions on what would be a little cheaper and worth it. The reason i would get new aftermarket rods is because ive heard after rebuilds the rods still arent very strong in 2g's. Any opinions/info welcome. Thanks, Jeff

EDIT: I also do plan on possibly changing my turbo set-up to a Forced Performance tdo6 20g in the future if that changes anything.

if your not looking for a ton of power...ide stick with the 7, just alot of things that youlll have to deal with going with a 6 bolt, plus you would either have to get a 1g head or machine you head bolt holes larger to acomidate the head studs on a 6bolt... ide stick with the 7

What about a 6 bolt with stonger rods? After you have a built bottom end, you can make much more power with little or no worries.

I would never build a 7-bolt.

I dont really want to have it "built" just some stronger rods and maybe some cams, my car is automatic so i dont really have to worry to much about CW.

I would like to hear your theory on why a rebuilt 6 bolt is better than a 7 bolt? A rebuilt 7 bolt will be just as good as a rebuilt 6 bolt. Other than the rod's being a little weaker but if he is upgrading rods it's not a factor. I prefer the 7 bolt because of the main cap girdle as opposed to individual caps. Also like the windage tray that most have. Please state reasoning and facts to back up your opinion...maybe a person experience or something. Without using the words crank or walk in your reason either.
