To rebuild, or not to rebuild

So the motor in my Time Attack car has been doing great. I built it in 2018, and hasn’t missed a beat the entire time.

I ended my season early cause I have a lot of stuff to catch up with as far as racecar, truck, house etc. Before I start tearing the trans out for a rebuild, I wanted to check the vitals on the motor. So far just a compression test. Numbers are as follows: 130/130/150/150.

I’m going to do a leak down test when I get a compressor over to the house, and check crank endplay. I have the Magnus rebuildable oil filter, so will obvs pull that apart to see what’s happening.

My question is, based on those compression numbers, would you send the motor next season? Or pull it all apart and see what’s going on in there? Blow by is minimal.

Yeah I think the motors fine. No metal in the oil filter or anything. We good.

Hmm, that's a 13-15% disparity between cylinders. I recall the FSM saying something like 5-10 is max. Don't quote me on that.

I always went with the 15% rule, and literally the only stock thing is the block and head castings…I think I’ll just send it next year
