Hello! I’m new to this platform and the DSM community but I’m looking for a flashed ECU for the 420a. I was looking at Modern Performance as they flash your ECU and send it back. Does anyone have any experience using them? Thanks

Are you sure that they offer a flash for the 420a ECU? That would be news to me.

I can't say I've heard anything about them in the past other than a few people suggesting that the ECU could be reprogrammed. SInce it's buried in potting I've never been interested to look deeper.

These work well in the neon community, I presume it’s the exact same calibration here. Good for minor bolt-ons but still won’t handle bigger cams, etc well.

It's interesting to see that this service is offered. I would of course like to see dyno graphs proving the 22hp peak increase. Even if not, it's still great that they can advance ignition timing on the stock computer.

For years people have either thrown out the stock computer and used MegaSquirt, or just lived with it. Information has been shared for years that the reflash software is heavily protected and has not been replicated. If this service is true and honest, I wish I would have found out early on with my 420A projects. I still wouldn't value it above MegaSquirt for many reasons, but that sounds great for the average guy with a simple project, just wanting a little more performance.

I'll keep that link in the archives. Too bad it took so long to find out about this. I put many valuable hours into researching the computer, such as all of it's history and capabilities. And so many more hours getting rid of that computer to tune these rides myself. The market now is so much more dry than it was even 10 years ago. But this is still good news.

If anyone uses this service, I'd love to hear your opinion on the results. Maybe some live data snapshots before and after, and especially dyno graphs before and after. I'm always recommending MegaSquirt for those that have a turbo build, and sometimes the serious builder that squeezes every drop of power from their 420A, although this is rare. Having this information and service could change the game a bit.

Thanks for sharing the link and the current input, though limited. I've heard so much more about this being for Neons and nothing about the Eclipse, though they are similar platforms in terms of drivetrain electronics and mechanical parts.
