I was finally able to take my 1995 FWD Hyundai Accent, with a hybrid 2G motor / EVO 9 head and automatic transmission to the dyno. Results were impressive, the project made 588HP and 448 torque. This was accomplished with an EVO 8 computer, pte 6765 turbo and E85 fuel.

Nice, good torque numbers love to see a dyno sheet to see how the mivec affected the torque curve. Did you tune the cam timing? Is there a lot of area under the curve? That's what I'm looking for, dam kid that in a light fwd accent? Things gonna be a highway killer for sure.

So I searched quick in the build thread for your project didn't see it, so I'm curious did you have to rotate the head and have custom machining done? How hard and what parts are needed for the swap? If you don't mind me asking, that is an awesome setup and I love the technical stuff. Thanks.

The swap was not hard at all, you will need the head with every thing intact. The only visible difference will be the turbo sitting at the back of the engine by the firewall and the intake manifold at the front by the radiator. Originally I was using a series one AEM to control MIVEC, fuel, ignition and shifting the auto transmission but I ran into problems with it and had to resort to EVO 8 computer. Tuning was done at waste gate pressure 25 PSI. The MIVEC was either on at 3000 RPM and off by 7500 RPM no cam timing was done. I am saving to buy a series 2 AEM. Then another trip to the DYNO and perhaps 40 psi of boost.

Definitely a creative build. I would like to see pics as well, Ive seen a GVR4 member do a Evo7 head swap on these forums. Was your sole intention of getting a Evo 9 head for the Mivec?

I know we have a map in evo 8 aem it's not my idea a friend was able to do it I have to get his permission before I post about it

Yes, props on the build, see that's the true dsm spirit that I love about this community. Not only did he do something different, but freely shared some of his build info. I've heard the way other tuning communities are like vw, and bmw and no one shares and ideas or info on their cars. And that keeps their platform from reaching its full potential imho. His build will inspire someone else who may find s way to make even more power and so on.

Thanks for all the kind comments I am always willing to share my ideas. I am constantly experimenting trying new ways to make my Hyundai go fast. My car does not have an oil filter housing. My oil filter is remotely mounted and I have the ability to adjust my oil pressure externally. I have pictures my son will post them later. A video of my dyno pull can be seen on my friend Rude Bajan facebook page.

Oh nice, that's a good idea never would have thought of that. When would you change the pressure and do you just wanna run just enough pressure to maintain the bearings hydrodynamic wedge? I remember reading that too much oil pressure can actually erode the bearings. But I don't know much about oil pressure tuning.

Oil pressure varies depending on viscosity and outside temperature I run 10-15 psi at idle to 90-105 at red line 9500 RPM. I am also working on a dry sump system driving the pump from camshaft pulley similar to mechanical fuel pump setup.
