92 eclipse n/t 4g63. dynoed yesterday and fwhp was 114. not cool! i have over 250 psi compression and 272 cams. im not the one who built the motor tho. bought it off a guy i know. its for dirt track racing. air fuel ratio is 19 to 1. HORRIBLE!! i ordered 450cc injectors and a walbro fuel pump to try to correct my lean problem. when i get my fuel right... is it likely the gain of horsepower will be more than 15?

It should, but 450's are going to be too big. I might suggest that you get a eeprom turbo ecu and burn a chip for it to tune the thing. Also run VP113 in it, that will be another 5-10% hp.

You need to have the car tuned properly before you blow it up. Also, those 272's aren't the best choice for an all motor application.

What do they have factory? I do not see the point in getting the injectors or fuel pump especially since you have no way to control anything. Go over everything, fuel filter, plugs/gaps, wires, air filter, fuel pump foot filter, ex..

I would start there. Once all is good you need to find out why it is running so lean. Do you have a print out of the dyno runs? One with an AFR on it? Whats your CPR?

Unless you're running a tuned engine, that's advancing the spark timing along with changes in the amount of fuel used and the timing of each little squirt of fuel with each stroke of the piston, you're just wasting your money on using that 112 fuel.

Don't have the results with me but CR is about 12:1 and afr like I said is 19:1. I don't know what all is done to the car .. compression is 270. That's ridiculously high. Obviously need more fuel. Just wondering how much I'm likely to gain when I get the fuel corrected. I've been on the phone with the dsm graveyard. He told me to go with the 450cc

Well, there we have it: Dsmgraveyard is involved. DONT deal with them dude. 450s would surely be too big. You are going to have to rev very high to extract all the HP out of this setup. look up member bullet dsm or dsm bullet(iirc).... He has an n/a 420a with around 210whp. He may be able to offer advice if hes not busy.
A way to tune is a must.

Procure a way to actually tune the car, and take it from there.

Its a dirt track car.. highly unlikely that ill ever be below 5000 rpm

272's are fine. Get a turbo eeprom ecu and a chip burner. Then goto dcmecu.com We'll get you fixed right up.

I said run 113 because it's oxygenated. heavily. 112 is not.


Anyway, go over your car better. At 19:1 it shouldn't even be running, I seriously doubt that it is true. Also, something must be wrong with the stock ecu setup for it to be running super lean. The stock maps are very conservative, and it would compensate for the extra air taken in by the 272's. You need to get a logger on it and see whats going on. You could be overrunning the maf, or the injectors. This will blow it up.

One problem... I don't know what that stuff is or where to get it haha. I'm just a redneck trying to get my dirt track 4 cylinder to keep up with the non vtec preludes!
