285whp with over 300lbs of tq spiking at 24 psi dropping off to 22. Mods are in my profile. Does this seem a bit low or am I just expecting too much? I thought I'd reach 300. Looking around at other peoples dynosheets with the same mods as me or even less mods and they all seem to dyno better.. :hmm:

I haven't done a log yet. I'll upload one soon. I know a couple of guys were asking for the dyno sheet so just though I'd put that up.

Thats not a coservative tune for pump gas, you should definatly add fuel in the 3700 erea and possibly all the way across then maybe check the timing and look for power there. There might be lots of power lost in the timing curve but unless you run corn juice I would stay in the 11.5afr area and 18-20*

Oh, alright. Well then from the looks of things, why am I producing so much less power than what people are saying I should be making?

I don't have DSMLink so I not exactly sure how the Timing Adjustment works.

Looks like to me that you only have 8 degrees of advance up top.
You should gain some power by advancing timing.

I run 16-17 degrees advance with Small 16g at 23 psi.
93 octane gas and 7.8 to 1 compression.

I'm sure your Tuner lowered your timing for a reason, but I've heard you shouldn't run less than 12 degrees without forged pistons because of the extra heat produced.

Someone with DSMLink please correct me if my calculations are wrong.

Interesting Ceddy. I didn't realize running less timing would increase temps like that.. Anybody have any input? I'll have to get a log tonight.

Also I'm running 92 octane on 8:1 compression

Guys, Guys! Remember tuning isn't just tweaking fuel ratios and adding some timing. I'll guarantee you won't fiddle with the AFC knobs and add 100 HP! So don't just focus on fuel and timing.

Tuning involves going through EVERY part of your setup and making sure it is working properly and works together with everything else you have. You don't just slap parts together and instantly have "Stage 2" power or some other predetermined number.

We can suggest some things to look at and try but your setup is different than everyone elses so you're going to figure it out yourself.

You have a baseline right now. You've seen some numbers others have reached. Start tweaking on EVERYTHING to get there.

Hmm maybe that log isn't a good one to look at... for some reason it jumps from 3700 rpm to 6600 and doesnt show anything in between :ohdamn:

might be an Idea to ask Lucas some questions about all this... He would be able to Answer most of you Q's about the tune and whether or not he didn't go all out with the tune and what not,And probably would appreciate being kept in the loop about this...
Me I would have asked him first before posting...

Oh, I'll ask him. He's on vacation until Monday. I just wanted to get your guys views on it as well. I'll try and get another log

Alright guys heres yet another log... this time in V3...

^^^+1

I also would have asked him b4 posting...

Things arnt pefect for your tune and we could all sit here from experience and say well maybe you need a little of this or that here and there, but i think no one has asked the obvious. Have you done a correct boost leak test, maybe even a compression test 2? From what i can see there is nothing anyone has suggested about timing etc thats gonns magically bump you 60 whp

I don't know about anybody else but If I was tunning a car on a dyno Pretty sure I would have already have done a BLT... or that the tuner would make sure there where none before tunning...

+1 on boost leak. Question and not to hijack this thread but Ive read a few issues with shaft seals on the TB. Is this common on DSMs?

Most shops Have a Pre-dyno check list ...

Don't jack other peoples threads when you can use the Search button... :thumb:

wasnt hijacking kinda hinting this might be the problem. The search button was used.. and if youll search it and read it wasnt a simple BLT but a smoke test that led to the conclusion that these seals were leaking.. sorry for not clarifying this before
