What am I doing wrong?
What I did ...so far..
Had a Type S Bov...single spring mod...turbos housing boost source connected straight to the wastegate acuator(because my BCS wasn't holding any boost).
The car held boost...fine...everything seemed good.
Bought a boost gauge, and Manual bleeder style NxS boost controller(finally!)
Installed boost gauge (teed off the FPR line that's also bypassed not connected to the FPS)....only to find out that my car spikes psi at 10, then goes down to 8psi.
So...I thought maybe the boost controller will help...installed it correctly, have the lines hooked up right. Took it for a test drive car went crazy with boost up to 15psi and hits fuel cut...couldn't figure out why...thought the boost controller wasn't lose enough.
Adjust it and it still hits 15+ psi fuel cut, so I immediately stopped driving...
The Dumb piece of Garbage Bov type S purple top wannabe...leaks...a lot, at first a thought the single spring mod and the second port being vented wasn't doing the whole pull/push job especially since I'm running stock psi. Maybe installing the second small spring back and connecting the second port will fix my overboosting problem. Wrong, the BOV is leaking bad from the top where a screw is. If I placed my finger the hissing stops or changes. Seems like a big leak.
Could that leak^^^^ cause the turbo to boost like this? Since under boost the air is escaping thus the valve opening under pressure?
Well....still, I took off the Type S BOv and tossed in the trash, re-installed my stock 2g bov.
Also slapped on my intake cone filter+adapter and took the honey comb off the MAF ...my car is loud under boost and the bov sound sweet. I feel like a semi truck passing by cars
...
Anyways back to the 2g bov, guess what?...it changed everything now may holds at exactly 10 psi....spike to 11-12 then holds at 10.
Finally fixed it...but now...here's why I'm posting the thread.
My boost controller won't control boost!!! It's lose ...the chrome ball and spring are inside, and the bleeder hole is not blocked.
I followed the instructions on here just like the instructions that it came with. One end to the wastegate, another to the turbos boost source.(believe me I got it on right)
No matter what settings the car holds pressure at 10psi, I'm thinking with the MBC on there it's no different than having it how I had it set up before the boost source bypassed to the wastegate.
Another option the instructions it came was having it connected to the intake manifold instead of a boost source?...will this work?
