I am currently runnung a big 16g on 11 psi, my motor has 4000 miles on it, stock rebuild.
firstly what exactly is stock boost pressure an secondly should i turn it up a little bit to maybe 13 psi, I really dont want to break anything you know?

stock psi varies from 8psi to 10psi.I believe it is possible for stock to be 12 but not 100% sure on that. You will be fine on 13psi.If you plan on going much higher a wideband is a must and some form of tuning.

with that said what is a good brand for widebands? I was looking at getting an autometer sport-comp digital guage. but i also looked at AEM widebands. Any other good brands to research?

I have aem and have no complaints, works fine with my dsmlink. Some people claim problems using aem wideband with link though.

i have a glowshift set up in my car, there wideband kits cost about as much as the aem ones. i was going to get an aem one but i have delt with glowshift in the past so i thought id give the wideband a try, it is a great unit and easy instalation. i have had no problems with is at all.

i have a tripple piller set up in my eclipse with 30psi boost water temp and wideband, and all the gauges work great.

here is the link :D

Wideband: White 7 Series Digital Wideband Air/Fuel Gauge that is the exact gauge i have, there are some other variations as well.

Hi, interested in knowing if running a small 16g on stock dsm injectors and a 255pump + fuel pressure regulator would be safe to run. In the future I would get bigger injectors + tune all at once, but if I got the small 16g now would it overwork my injectors or would the turbo not run safely etc?

Im running stock pressure on mine I haven't ran into any problems . I have injectors and pump just need the time to put them in. I think stock waste-gate pressure is 10 or 12 psi on a s16g. You should be good as long as you dont crank up the boost until you get injectors installed... otherwise you'll get some some bad fuel cut...hope this helps! :D

Also; I HIGHLY reccommend getting A: some sort of tuning solution B: FMIC or risk getting heat soak with your 16g

On my 450s and stock intercooler I was hitting 100% Idc at 11lbs, also hitting 210F+ by the end of third gear pulls. It would pull timing and knock like crazy from heat soaking.

I'm getting a vrsf fmic, air intake and doing a head gasket test soon and replacing it if bad. Also getting a catch can. any more suggestions to combat heat soak? Tune is obviously my goal but I'll spend 1k on parts and then have to spend 1k on tune (ecu injectors gauges dsmlink dyno pulls)

Im calling BS.

I ran a 14b at 20 psi with the stock 450's and saw 96 IDC.

The small 16g doesnt flow enough at 11 psi to max the injectors out. Theres no way

Sounds like your on the right track...Not sure how important catch cans are...One of my first mods was v3 Link and wide band. This gives you a HUGE insight to how healthy your car is running...That stock side mount ... Notorious for heat soak..and knock

I have an ebay knockoff 16g turbo and fmic kit so i'm just going to get a vrsf fmic and small 16g, just got a greddy type s bov and intake is next. If I wanted to get an exhaust, could I get the thermal racing exhaust from punishment racing and the pr downpipe? what o2 housing would i need, i see it says stock won't fix. not too familiar with the exhaust system so break it down for me. getting a goost boost gauge and maybe oil pressure or water temp gauge

Don't have my old logs but I'm calling BS on 20lbs. 450s can handle 15lbs on a 1g before maxing at 100% Idc. I have 3 1gs all with the same results. Testing was done on SD with ecmlink. Also remember that 2gs have 43.5psi base pressure not 37 like a 1g, so naturally a 2g will extend stock injectors.

Exhaust not to complicated...I wouldn't really blow a lot of money on a fancy exhaust cheap stuff does the same thing the expensive stuff does...Exhaust is a great area to save a buck in (one of the few) until your ready to make some serious power

Stay away from the ebay turbo :notgood:

You can use your stock o2 housing until your ready to go "BIG" turbo or different mani (but i really don't see the point) port and polish goes a long ways.

Just get a cheap SS cat back call it a day thats what I have on mine...works good sounds great!

Alot of people recommend a good down pipe to...I haven't it done it yet but it will most likely be my next upgrade.

no ebay turbos for me, i'll leave the exhaust alone until i get everything running right

Sure maybe at 15 psi but theres no way in hell at 11 psi you were getting 100 IDC even at bfp of 37.
