at least get aftermarket head studs... 20 psi is pushing it without that it...
Nope I dont have that. 100% stock motor. Ill def look into some arp's when I go bigger with injectors and link. So the question still remains how much power/ boost can a stock motor has before it blows? Asuming all the supporting mods are there?at least get aftermarket head studs... 20 psi is pushing it without that...
Actually no, you lost your bet. I have an afpr and running rich but only 8.5 or 9 at WOT. I have no sputtering, I think you think that I'm running 25 psi as is, I'm not. I'm running around 18. I'm waiting on dsmlink to tune my car. I just wanted to know what the motor can handle stock. I'm not building it until winter. I am planning on getting bigger injectors and pushing the boost higher.Your problem is that you have no tuning device. An Apexi SAFC would do the job. Im willing to bet you are running extremely crappy with 550cc injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump, and no tuning device. You are also overflowing the stock FPR. Your gas mileage is probably real crappy and your car must sputter under boost.
To answer your question, yes you can run 25PSI on an 18G with your 550cc injectors and 255 fuel pump, on bone stock motor. Your question about how many psi can blow stock motor does not have an easy answers. It all depends on your tune, ive seen people run 25-28 psi on stock motors.

Ok thanks for mentioning the AFPR. I just assumed you didnt have one because your mod list is empty. How much boost these motors can handle is subjective, each turbo's boost level is measured differently(PSI). I would say around 28 psi is what these motors can handle stock without putting serious wear on the engine.

well good to hear that....
ARP Hardware
machv has them for a little over 100 bucks
extremepsi.com is a bit more expensive for some reason...
Are these the right ones from extreme psi? If so there only $80

...
, I love that, look at the dance at the end !
keep it at 10 psi for now... upgrade your fuel pump, get a mbc, exhaust upgrade, and maybe some aluminum intercooler piping, and you would be good to run 15 psi on 93 octane.
