I have deleted the following:
POWER STEERING
A/C
EGR
EVAP

My question now is can I eliminate those wires and and connectors from harness or will it cause issues if they are removed?

I have 90% of conduit off from tracing wires so before I cover them again id like to do what I can now!

Yes the unnecissary wires and plugs can be completely removed from the harness. Also remove the pins as well for those wires. Gl

Any reason your making your car like this?

My questions exactly. You are removing comfort features that not only will affect your resale value but also unless you have a trailered race only vehicle(pretty sure you dont) going under 9sec 1/4 miles isnt going to see any gain from this.

Same goes for people gutting their cars, there is no point to it for a street car.

My buddy did this to his 420a also, stupid. But I have his car at my house while hes in TX right now. So we've been adding them all back. I can't live without CC, and AC...

Doing it show and removing the clutter from under the hood. Looking for a super clean empty bay. I'm 22 and can still deal with no power steering. Also car its gutted as well although you agree correct it will not see a 9 second bracket it is the unique concept of it.

Yes the pins thhat coonect to the ecu. Not only does it save in looks but it tajes a few lbs off the weight.

How about clean things up and make the car easier to work on.

PS is greatly overated, I love the PS/AC delete, gain a nice little bit of hp (and when you are a 420a NA ever little bit is necessary) along with the weight shaving and the cleanliness to the engine bay. I also have my EGR deleted to help keep the intake system clean and also to eliminate its annoyingneess. Yes I also DD my car and have no complaints.

The EVAP however I see going a little to far, I wouldnt want to take that kind of hit for a 5lb shaving with less clutter.

Are you looping the PS hose or eemptying the rack and capping it off? I think people run it either way without having issues.

Running line to stand alone reservoir to allow air to escape and also keep the gears lubed.

Heard when you loop there is still air that can build up. Would love to do a manual rack swap just eliminate any future issues

What are you? a masochist? Go put all that stuff back on your car. There's absolutely no point in taking power steering off your car unless it didn't work.

Sorry if this post wasn't helpful.

Thats funny, but ill post pictures once I re-conduit all wires.

I recommend NOT removing the wires from the harness!
it is 100% okay to remove the a/c, evap, egr, power steering, etc. But i wouldn't Completely remove all the wires in the harness for them all.
Lets just say that in the 420a harness there are some (+V)power wires that split to provide power to other sensors and relays.
I removed all the wires i didnt need such as evap, egr, cruise control, windshield washer, and anything else i didnt use..Then when it came time to start the car it WOULDN'T start. The problem was that a +12V wire for one of the sensors i got rid of, Also is supposed to provide power to a relay under the hood. Then the ECU would start acting weird, not turning on the fuel pump or crank the engine over.

So if your going for a nice, simple, clean lookin "engine harness" as well then You should just cut off the connectors to w/e your not using and just wrap the wires inside the wire cover, instead of removing all the pins and everything.

(This is just my opinion, and thought on the subject since ive done the same thing your doing, and was a PITA and a nightmare trying to figure out why the car isnt running. Apparently i removed something i shouldnt of So if you REALLY feel the need to remove all the wires you dont need then just be sure you know Exactly where that wire is coming from and where its going and what its for)

In the end i went to the junk yard and pulled an entire harness to put Back into my car and Then it started and had no problems after that.
Good luck and take your time!

I know this is off the topic but can anyone tell me size of bolt holding the header to down pipe on a 420a

i took EVERYTHING off my car that aint 100% necessary except power steering. not having a heater core or anything under the dash makes it so simple to run any wires/cables into the car. my battery is in the trunk as well. i love me an engine bay i can stand in LOL

There is absolutly no reason to put power steering on a car unless your a girl or 12. Maybe if it were a semi or a 5-ton.... Those wheels are bigger than shit and I would hate to have to turn them by hand.

But I actually like the steering feel I have not running PS in my GST.

Did you.headers heat up really quick after EGR delete

Do you know why my exhaust would be getting really REALLY HOT in the first 2 minutes of turning on????

Just got engine to turn on. I don't think its running lean. My buddy said that because the down pipe is not fully seed on header and there is a slight leak. Could that be causing excessive heat.

Absolutely no reason? How about using less force the turn the steering wheel?
