Allright, if you already dont know im trying to get the most bang for my buck since i cant really afford a whole lot right now and i dont have wads of cash comming in. So, right now im cruising in my 2G 96 RS. Its got 50K Miles on it, stock internals, CAI, 2.5" Cat Back, a NX wet kit that im running at a 50 shot right now (i dare not go higher). The motor and trans are in imaculate shape. I realy mean you could eat off em, and it runs like a champ. All maintanence done, new belts ets. All the work ive been doing myself, so im not afraid of a bit more complex project.

BUT, what would be the next upgrade from here that woulkd both maximize my power AND cost less than $500? And if something out there is cheaper then by all means!

UDP? (not one from ebay, read up on em already) New fuel system? Can new internals be bought cheaply? Or maybe the suspension system? (bang for the buck in terms of handling?)

Any help would be apreciated, theres ALOT out there but i need some help from people that have alreaqdy been there done that to point me in the right direction. Thanks :dsm:

Next thing if you want bang for the buck, an AFX UDP. Your car will just feel like it strains less to do everything and you do not lose so much power when your ac comes on. Then call up your local machine shop and get the throttle body bored to 55mm and the intake manifold port and polished. All that should leave you with about 150 left and a hell of "bang for the buck".

That is all if you take the intake manifold and throttle body off, the shop should only charge around 175 to do both.

After that I guess I might work on my suspension but with only 50k I wouldn't even worry about it, cause it can't be that bad.

like i said in the nitrous forum, and ill say it here, your best bang for the buck would be to run a 75 shot. its a free upgrade. but if you dont got the sack, then what he said would be the best way to go.

I thought about doing a 75 shot, but on stock internals it just sounds like a bad idea. I would be asking for trouble with it.
If i took the TB and such into be P&P'd about how much time do they have to spend on it? Could i get it back the same day? Im asking because this is my one and only car right now until i buy one for my wife.

our cars are proven to hold up to 75, mine is right now, on stock internals. some guys have even run an 80 shot, but i dunno if i would do that. but you could still bump it up to 65, without too much worry.

all the places ive seen where you sent your manifold and tb in to get ported, its like a 1-2 week turn around. im not sure how long a shop by you would take

Anybody have a good lead on where i could get parts that are already P&P? Then i could just remove the stock ones and swap the new ones in.

I would just go and buy a stock intake manifold and a stock tb from a junk yard and git them p&p :thumb: :D

If I was you, I would do either of these 2 mods:

Modern Performance 60mm throttle body. Billet aluminum. You can get it in anodized red or blue, and plain silver. Cost: @ $210.00

AFX underdrive crank pulley with belts. I got mine from Howell Automotive. Cost: @ $140.

DO NOT get another intake manifold to port and polish. That is NOT a problem area on our cars. Our heads flow very well. It would be a waste of money for little to no gain.

Good luck!

our heads flow very well, were talking about the intake manifold.

try fierroracing.com for your porting needs.I think he charges like $125 for our 420 a manifold.I did mine myself and let me tell you,I would rather pay then ever do this again.I haven't dynoed again so I don't know how much I gained.
AFX pulley is definatly you best next mod in my opinion.

I realized that we were talking about our intake manifold and not just the head.

Nothing on our head, including the intake manifold, is a problem area. HRC is still using the stock components and making FAR more hp than any of us.. The most I would do to the INTAKE MANIFOLD is get a larger throttle-body and port match the opening to match the opening on the larger throttle-body. Anything other than that is pretty much a waste of money IMO as I stated above.
