Ok here is my problem I bought a 91 eclipse 6 bolt bare block a while ago. I wanted a 6bolt in my 2gen so I figured I would get this one rebuilt. The problem I am having is that I can't find main caps that are going to fit the block since they never came with it. I have already spent some money on the block and I wouldn't prefer to start all over again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I managed to buy some from mitsubishigraveyard but the machine shop called me up and said that they wouldn't fit. I don't know what to do. I am not putting anything great in the block just 2gen piston with 1gen big rods. Would I need to buy a whole new block or what ? help!!!, thanks

If the main caps you got didnt fit, they probably went to a 7-bolt motor. Put an add in the classifieds for a set of 6-bolt main caps and you should be good to go. After you get those I'd have the mains line honed by the machine shop for sure.

i agree once you line bore it youll be fine, the aftermarket main caps are expensive and nto needed unless you have a serious engine goin on.

check ebay and dsmtrader, you should find em pretty easy

I have a set.. How much are they worth to you ?

I have a block that will be eventually replacing even this one 2 years or so from now... It will get the billet caps so I just dont need them.. I have like 3 other blocks too...
