I have a 90 Talon Full built motor 9:1 compression, FP2X cams, Denso 660cc, 3" GM MAF, AFC NEO, 50 trim garret, full race manifold, HUGE FMIC, 3" turbo back, plus other non relevant stuff
when I first got the car together it had the stock intake manifold and translator only no neo on it and after a little tuning it ran perfect 11.2 afr all the way to 7,500 @ 19psi
I bought a magnus for it and it picked up a stumble after 6,500 or so and showed to drop off to 11.8 afr. I had to buy a NEO to get for RPM based fine tuning to richen it up on top end. I got the afr good all the way across.
running 100LL fuel I turned the boost up to 25 for a important race I had. I had to do some minor adjustment to get the afrs right but I got it at 10.8 and 0 knock all the way to 7,500 on a 3rd gear pull. BUT if I launch the car it stumbles and picks up as much as 11 counts of knock on the logger and it shows 10.0 afr (fattest the Autometer wideband will read). By stumble I mean you can feel it surging power pretty bad.
I have tried closing the plug gap up more down to .026 from .028 running BPR7es plugs and BPR8es plugs. nothing really seems to make a change.
If anyone has any insight on this let me know.
PS I won the race against a built GN with a sc61, methanol, slicks, etc... with him running 21psi. from a dig and beat him by 7 cars.
