I got a CEL while idling the other day, and i noticed when my CEL is on my car sucks up a ton of gas. So today i pulled the neg battery cable left of for about a minute and put it back on. I let the car idle for like 20 min(was on break in my car) and when i left later that night i floored 1st and the rpms stopped at 4200rpm then stumbled to 5000 then stopped, every time it stopped it was making all kinds of gargling sounds. So i got to a decent road and tried the same thing in 2nd and the same thing happened. Do i need to reset my ecu and immediately drive it afterward or what?

Letting it idle or driving after a reset doesn't matter, it should run fine either way.

I have my battery in the trunk, with a circuit breaker, and turn it off a lot overnight, which resets the ecu, and mine always starts and runs fine.

There is something wrong with your car, find out which CEL you have.

My data link connector(obd port) wont connect to anything. The last CEL i got which was 2 years ago was for misfire in cylinder 3 and it was due to bad plugs. My car also seems to act funny in boost after i've driven it for about an hour or more. One thing i noticed is when i was checking my wire last week when i pulled the #4 wire it would arc to anything close and if i pulled it from the coil pack that would jump to anything close, but none of my other wires did that.?
