I was reading a write up about tunning witht the safc and it said to reset the ecu after letting the car warm up. It said you have to do this before tunning with the safc.

I never knew this thefore never doing it. Is this the reason Im having problems with maintaining my fts?

I'm not sure if that your issue or not, but if your not clearing your fuel trims, then any adjustment your making your not seeing the affects from a unbiased point. Clearing the trims would make it quicker and easier to dial your tune.

On gm's we pull the battery cables (both), and hold them together for 20 seconds as to drain all stored energy in the caps. Thats the only way a gm will reset fuel trims.

I would pull the interior dome light fuse first ( ecu battery back up runs off of that). Key off obviously.

If that doesn't work do the above procedure.

I just pulled the cables and held them together for secs. Im going to leave them unhooked over night. See what happens. Im gonna start trying to tune this thing tomorrow since I just put some s in a few weeks ago and never really tuned them. I have the base settings on my safc at -18%.

I know nothing retaining to tuning a safc, if you need assistance there, hopefully somebody else will chime in!

I know the cable off will clear it.

Hope so. Thanks for the the help. Ive been trying to get the fuel trims at 0 but they keep changing on me and its freaking frustating! Hopefully this will work so they stay consistant.
