I’m hoping that one of the tuning guru‘s would be willing to weigh in on this.
Basics: ‘91 Talon TSI, stock block/head, FP exhaust manifold, big 16g, stock intake manifold, 850cc injectors, Aeromotive FPR, 6an lines, billet fuel rail, stock coils, Ecmlink tuned by K Jewer.
Since getting the car back on the road, I’m having a strange thunk sound - not a knock, no CEL’s - but it’s something that I can feel through the gas pedal. It corresponds directly to my AFR’s fluctuating from mid 14’s at idle and cruise, to 11’s and 12’s when the “thunk” hits. Doesn’t matter whether the car is running cool or warmed up. Part throttle only, under load, not an issue. Most pronounced just off idle to about 2000 rpms.
The car ran perfect before the addition of all of the mods this past summer. Anyone care to take a guess?
