Hey guys, so i started the car up and now a huge new problem has reared its ugly head.

I took the car literally about 50 feet forwards then back into the garage and then this horrible whine sound started from the engine.

Some things ive noticed,
1.the sound increases and decreases with engine speed, but cant be heard when its just cranking over.

2. Its not any of the accessory pulleys or belts as i have removed the power steering belt, the alternator belt, and the a/c belt.

3. The timing belt isnt rubbing on the case cover because i removed that and the sound still happens. Also the belt doesnt have any wear that would suggest rubbing.

4. Almost everything in the engine is brand new.

5. I took the valve cover off and all of the rocker arms are in place and none of the camshafts have any scoring on them??

Anyone have any ideas of what it could be,
Attached is a picture and a video of the noise/ cylinder head

Yea most likely i rushed the bottom end build a bit in order to get it done before i had to go back to school, so its quite likely i made a noob mistake like that.

Well i pulled off a main cap today to check to see if anything was amiss, im not sure about what i found.

There is a tiny little series of scratches in the middle of the bearing, none of them can be felt with your fingernail but when you put them under a light you can see em. What do you think is this bad enough to replace the bearings (which is going to be a huge pia if i have too...)

easiest way i found to do this was to take the belts off of the car, leave the timing belt on though, start it up and see if it is still making that sound. if its not then just go ahead and manually spin the pulleys one by one to see if you get a faint clicking sound in one of them. one you find the sound, then you have your problem.

How much more can you help a guy who pulls the rod caps and sees scoring from a year ago? As stated before, read posts to see what has been proven or not to be true. thanks. :thumb:
