ok there is a loud knocking noise coming from the engine(drivers side i think) at higher rpm only when im pushing on the gas hard, i tried just putting the rpms high and not putting the engine under a load to see if there was any odd noise, and no there wasnt. im probably going to get it checked out friday by a mechanic if i cant figure this out myself. any ideas?

well ive done some research and im thinking it has something to do with the balance shaft?

You might be having a problem with crankshaft thrust bearing failure. Whoever you have check out your ride tell them to check the crankshaft end play for you and make sure that it's within spec. :dsm:

Knocking of the balance shaft will be most prominent near the number one and number 2 cylinders on the back of the block. I've only seen a couple, but they do make you wonder for sure. Crankshaft end play will probably have to be measured by machinist.

Good Luck
