I just got done redoing my head I did the HG and a whole new head new timming belt the works. I started the car for the 1st time 2 days ago the idle was kinda ruff but I fixed that problem. It i is still kinda ruff now but it idles around 750ish rpm. I drove it for 2 days it had good power and ran good no stalling. Today I popped the hood checked the oil it was about 1/2 a quart low so I added some oil and checked the radiator it was low as well added some water I started the car tonight and all I hear is a loud clicking / knocking sound comming from the head it never did this till tonight when I started it. I am not sure what it is, every thing is hooked up right I see no lose connections and the Timming belt is nice and snugg. I am wondering if I added to much oil, the oil guage is reading oil preasure so it must be getting oil. I am going to do a commpression test tommorrow and see what the number are anyone had this problem?

Was the tension on the timing belt done correctly. Its possible you didn't tension it enough and the belt skipped a few teeth and your valves might be brushing the pistons.
 
I applyed proper tension I did as the manual said to do it. The belt didnt feel lose it is possable though, the compression test should answer this, I will get back with the number tommorrow. Thanks

the belt on the idler pulley side (intake camshaft sprocket all the way down to the oil pump sprocket) will be a little loose after you start it up and shut it off, as long as it isn't loose on the tensioner side (crankshaft sprocket going up to the exhaust camshaft sprocket) tension is fine, and in between the exhaust cam and intake cam, there will be a little slack when the cams go into "resting" position...there are some allowances on the camshaft sprockets when it comes to skipping teeth, 1 on the exhaust and 3 on the intake before you will bend a valve..the rough idle could be hundreds of things, and the knocking, well.. hard to say as well... engines make alot of different noises.. did you switch gasoline or something? if you are running a lower octane rating, then maybe that is what your knock is. since the higher the octane, the more resistant to knock. i hope i helped :thumb:
 
Well I didnt do a compression test I looked at the timming marks and they are off. The cams seem to be in time, but the belt must of jumped at crank because when the cams reach Top dead center the crank isnt even close to reading top dead center. I pulled the plugs there is oil in the cyclinder closest to the timming belt but the rest are fine so it looks like I bent some valves. The gas is 93 octane as well so it just looks like bent valves.
