loud clunking on deccel

Ok so when I left off the accelerator I hear a very loud whack whack whack until I hit the pedal then it goes away as I gain speed but at idle I do not hear the noise, also when I push in the clutch I get the noise again I can feel it in the floor board on the driver side. The noise sounds like it is coming from the driver side I am going to check some things tomorrow just wanted some more ideas thank you

My car did this and sad to say it was crank walk my friend.

So common problem I am guessing best thing to do is just rebuild it I am guessing or just new crank bearings and call it good around how much to fix it

It's to dark to check anything right now so I will check tomorrow in the morning so 420a motors don't normally walk ?

You know what? Yes, it's crankwalk, you'll have to replace the engine, you can't repair it.

No, seriously though, it's not crankwalk. Crankwalk is way over hyped and it was typically only the 7 bolt 4g63 that had issues with it.

So don't worry, you have a 420a.

Sorry to say any engine with a thust bearing can "Walk" if the thrust bearing is wore and has more than the specified tolerance. For example I think the max a
4g63 can have is .008.

On my old talon it when I decel but when i braked it wouldnt do it. Did it for about twenty minutes before I found out the 4/5 lug nuts were loose on my drivers front wheel .

Classy, but you should probably know that your car is more Chrylser than Mitsubishi, and a crank is a crank, regardless of its country of origin.
