im driving today and i heard a clunk or two, then i went out just recenty and it wont stop cluncking or grinding or whatever, sounds like its coming from the center, you hear it in different spots depending, sometimes in the front, under shifter and sometimes in the rear, and when i put it in reverse or drive when i just start it up it wont go unless i hit the gas a bit, im guessing driveshaft, and the joints are probally frozen(reminds me of my cousins wrangler)

if there frozen will it slow me down? i turn it on when its cold and go in reverse or drive and it wont budge, then it does and when i let off the gas it slows down, didnt hear that much clunking driving it home from boston just now, but when i hit a couple pot holes it would clunk very bad

well its a 95, it was good for the past 3 weeks, these past couple days ive been noticing it slow down whe ni let off the gas, reminds me of my bmw 750il that had a noisy driveshaft and if i let of the gas it would come to a halt

T-case of diff check both

i had the similar problem, it would make clocking noises every now and then. It kinda sounded like the shaft was hitting the exhaust pipe.

This happened to me after i did a few hard pulls, it turned out my transfer case started to go bad. I drained the oil and a lot of metal shavings came out, i replaced it and the problem was solved.

i found it strange though, i talked to a local shop that handles mostly dsm's and he told me that transfer cases can handle around 400hp or so (cant remember exactly now) but i doubt my car is pushing that much, so i think, i havent dynod it. Guess i had an old and badly maintenanced transx.

yea i wanna check that tomorrow at my shop, my car is lowered so much i cant really get under it, the transfer case on the automatics takes gear oil right? im hoping its just the cv joints on the driveshaft

anywere to order a new driveshaft thats also lighter

i was searching on here and someone said with a m/t said they constantly heard grinding noises and it was something that connected the tranny to the transfer case, im hoping its not that, it didnt make no griding noises driving home today, i went over a bump or two adn then CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK, but nothing continous

most likely your exhaust system

you know what i noticed, one of the hangers on the exhaust system is broken, and it hangs about an inch of the ground, my car is lowered on eibach springs and tokico or w.e. i had it on the lift, we had it in drive for a good half hour waiting for somethign to happen the i got in it while my cousin checked around, i took it up to 100 mph on the lift(do not attempt!) nothing, well i looked at a driveshaft on extremepsi i think for 715 that handles up to 650hp, so i might get one of those before christmas just on the safe side, and im gonna try to get some new piping in the rear for my exhaust and get the hangers redone

i noticed a sticker on my rear end that said viscious rear end
