Clunking noise

I have a 96 GSX automatic and when I shift from reverse to drive their is a clunking noise. I racked up the vehicle to check it out and didn't see it coming from the u-joints, driveshaft, or motor mounts. Has anyone encountered this problem before or what do you think would cause that to happen?
