clunking noise while driving

when im driving my 90 tsi i get this clunk clunk clunk noice in the rear of the vehicle, stops when i brake or at highway driving 55 and over, not sure what it could be. Im hopeing you guys could help be out thank you.

Universal joint maybe?

hmm, ill have to get under her and check it out. I get it at even extremely low speed as well, roughly starts around 10mph or so and from there till about 55mph i hear it or my exhaust and lack of full interior muffles the sound .
