Ok so I had this clunking noise and it just started doing it very bad so the car was towed to my grandpas garage. The car did this on take offs in 1st sometimes in reverse, when getting on it in third gear and sometimes when deacclerating in gears also when turning. So I thought it was the trans may still be, but not really sure. Anyways the car got real loud doing this clunking noise, noise sounded like it was coming from the front end below the motor. I parked it and tried pulling into a small slope of my friends driveway, but the car in 1st gear wouldnt go forward reversed tried it in second locked up again so then eventually reversed popped it into first started driving then it finally made it over the slope. Car felt sluggish and felt like crap. The car seemed to shift completely fine in all gears no grinds when driving normally. I also put the car in neutral with it off and let it roll down hill and was clunking violently, which makes me think it may or may not be the tranny.

Check your mounts, like, all of them. Try and see if you can shake your engine while it's on the ground, then lift it and shake it again. If it moves that's probably your problem, if not one of them. Just a thought.

Has newer polyurethane mounts. I will look after work, thinking maybe cv joints or broken axle or trashed tranny at the moment.
