I just bought a GSX 1998. It has a metal clunking sound when I accelerate from a stop. It also has a clunking sound when I go over a bump in the road and sometime when I turn. There also seems to be excessive vibration noise in the car. Anyone else ever have this problem? I bought the car in California yesterday and drove it back to Phoenix so I have not gotten under the car to take a look yet. Im thinking it may be motor mounts, but this is my first LSD GSX. I m wondering if there are drive train mounts that could be bad as well. Any thoughts or info greatly appreciated.

Could be a lot of things. You're going to have to inspect the drivetrain and suspension parts. I would start with checking all of your suspension bushings.
