I would say it's not bad for a project car. What are you looking to do with it once you rebuild the motor? I must admit I find automatic to be boring, but it has been proven to show good results on the drag strip. Get what you want man, don't let people steer you away

Well the guy said tranny has about 8k miles and has all recpeits to show the work. He told me he would take 850 for it. Just needs the money at the moment im guessing. And needs it gone Im not really thinking of what to use the car for. Just would like an awd for a project. And ive heard the spd swap isnt to hard to do.

It's fun to go through the gears on a 5 speed, but don't knock on the auto transmissions.Car looks clean build it once right should be fun.:thumb:

Do it!!! My buddy has a modded 335xi sedan thats an auto and it is so much fun to drive. Its like....you stab the pedal and nothing happens then 2 seconds later....BOOM!!! Fast autos are alot of fun and you dont have to worry about missing third at 8krpm and toasting your motor.

850$ you talked him down to...How come this in not in your driveway already...

Your lucky I don't like in kansas..Cause I would be coming home right now with this car..

If you know how to rebuild engines..Jump on it dude..

If you don't hop on that before Christmas, I'm gonna be trailering me a new toy home! I live just close enough i could have that baby home in a day, LOL.

If i were you and your just looking for a project, i would snatch it up man.

Deals done goin to look at it saturday after he gets of work. Will keep everybody up dated and thanks for the info. Rebuilt a few small block 350s and other various engines. Never a 4g63t. But im up for the challenge.

if you cant start it and drive it i wouldnt mess with it.

Im kind of in shock. Its a good platform. Dsms are very rare in wichita. Im suprised he hasnt sold it yet at that price. Tsi awd. Auto or manual. Either 1 isnt a big deal. If anything. Pull the engine and rebuild it. Put it in. Resale. Which prob wont happen for how clean it is.

i know he said he brought it to a "mechanic" but another thing to consider is it could just be something as simple as a blown turbo blowing oil out the exhaust which 1) would look like major blow by issues and 2) at that mileage it probably needs a turbo anyways. just something to think about. so it may not be such a big deal to fix it after all...
