can someone please link me to a nice and cheap wideband and a nice and cheap vafc please? are vafc's really hard to use?

Well if you want a wideband I recomend the Innovate LC-1 the DB gauge is pretty nice looking also. Check out the vendors sites and compare prices seems to be around $210 average. As for the vafc, I don't believe that is around anymore, current is the SAFC Neo. You'll need to know what size injectors you are running as the SAFC can only support to either 650 or 750's. Best tuning route to go is either ECMLink, keydriver or 98/99 flashable ECU tuning.

If you can get some good picture of your injectors and any numbers on them, I'm sure someone may be able to figure out what they are. As for the AFPR, it'll either be off of the fuel rail or mounted somewhere. The line to it will be off of the fuel rail and the regulator will have an adjustable screw on top of it like a bov will if it's adjustable.

i thought thats what its called but i just need something to adjust my fuel mixture. i have a fuel pressure regulator coming off my fuel rail, andf it is adjustable

Did you even read my post? I basically gave you all the info you needed and then some.

Look anything like this?

ya that looks just like what i have except mine is silver. can i adjust my fuel mixture with that? any other opinions on the wideband linked by jayrolla? is that the best bang for my buck?

my friend said i needed a vafc but he does hondas so i guess that explains it

Yes the SAFC allows for fuel control. 650 injectors are about the largest you want to go because when you use the SAFC to tune it tricks the computer into seeing less airflow so you may hit higher timing.

The wbo2 I posted uses the LC-1 which is very well known. Its the second cheapest kit on the market. The EUGO is a little cheaper but Im going to sell it for the one I posted.

Yep the aem is a good wideband for the price, just about anywhere, im going with the innovative w/b. Im going to use ecmlink also, not to sure about the ability to log with the AEM. Plus its more stealthy.

The LC-1 is a great wideband but is slightly more expensive than an AEM UEGO. I'm happy with my UEGO but I use evoscan for my logging so I can just log through the serial port directly.

As for fuel controllers, what are your goals for your car? IMO the SAFC is a dead tool for our cars. For 1g cars you can use an Eprom ecu and burn chips for it, use Jackal, or use ECMlink. All of these are considerably better tuning solutions than an SAFC which causes a lot of issues when controlling larger injectors. Up to about 550s are nearly problem free but larger than that causes incredibly aggressive timing in 1g cars which actually requires you to run less boost to keep the car together. If you don't like the idea of Eprom ecus or can't find one then you can wire a late 2g ecu (98/99) or evo8 ecu into your car and then you will have a flashable tuning solution.

the AEM wideband is not worth the money its been tested that its up to a full point off on its readings :toobad:

lc 1 wideband for the win, looks good comes with software and cheaper.:thumb:

as for the AFC, i have the SAFC I with that said... i herd that AFC can only handel 550s tops is that just for the model one and two or can all safc handel higher, because i would rather run 650 if its safe.

Link to this information? Sounds like hogwash to me.

All AFC variants have the same basic capacity and function. If you can get away with then 550s will make the car run better than 650s because every step up in the size injectors that you are using makes it so that you have to lie to your car even more which screws with coming in and out of closed loop, timing, AFR targets, etc. 650s IMO are an automatic nono on a 1g and only acceptable for a 2g if you are absolutely running out of fuel with smaller injectors.
