Hello everyone! I am in need of some expert advice. I recently got my hands on an Eprom ECU for free! Friend of mine selling his car and never got around to getting DSMlink. This was a spare ECU. Any way, Now that a large part of the expense associated with DSMlink has been removed I am almost ready to purchase! I had a few things that I was going to be buying but now I need to think things through... Mods in my profile are up to date.

I am going to buy my fuel setup. Would be acceptable to buy 850cc injectors a run with only a 190lph pump? If I go to the 250 lph I would need to by AFPR. I need to be wise if DSMlink is going to happen for me! You may ask why the big injectors... Well right now I say I am happy with a modest 350 hp on a 16G, but I know myself. Once I get used to things, I WILL want more!

Also, one thing that I must sacrifice to get the DSMlink is a Wide Band o2 sensor that I was almost going to buy. Is that okay? Obviously I am new the tuning world! I know that the wide band is important and eventually I will get that, but life is about balance and the DSMlink is heavy! Something has to give.

Any advice for someone who loves his DSM AND his wife? I do not want divorce and bankruptcy so that that ¼ mile times go down

The wideband is a nice adder & you can tie it right into dsmlink to log it all on one screen, once the funds become available. Defently don't have to have it to get a descent tune. I have found the air/fuel estimate in dsmlink to be pretty dame close to my wideband reading after I have achieved a constant boost level. (this of course will only be accurate if you input the properties that match your setup). Once you get the link & get access to the forums there is a tuning manuel download that will give you approx rpm correction values to get you desired air/fuel ratio. You obviously can't do this till you get your fuel trims inline but I found these to be pretty close as well. I did the same as you, got dsmlink first, tuned it according to what I mentioned above, around the high 10 to 1 range & then a few months later got the WB. Basically didn't have to touch much as the tune was that close to were I wanted it to be.

The 190 pump should be fine with the 850's for your current goals. While the 190 won't max out the 850's you still have a good amount of room before you'll be there. A 190 is good for about 400 hp, so you be the judge if your future plans will be more then that.
