I'm a newbie for sure, i thought about getting dsm link, would I need a wideband 02 with this to tune? :confused:or does it log accuratley itself. :confused:If I need one, what else would i need with it? A control box? what. :confused:Or does that stuff come with it. I am on a budget, so any directions without spending on stuff I dont need would help.:thumb:

Yes you want a wbo2 if you plan on modding yourself. First dsm mod IMO should be a wbo2. That way you can turn up boost, add fuel components and bolt ons while watching your afr so you will be safe and make the most power out of each mod.

Mod list should go in this order

1. wbo2
2. dsmlink
3. injectors, fuel pump and regulator if needed.

Needed? No. Recommended? Absolutely.

When you have a wideband o2 you can set it up to log on Link while you're driving....you won't even need a gauge to view what's going on. You can literally log the wideband's function on a graph, go out and do a pull, stop, take a look at what points in the RPM range you're lean or rich, then adjust accordingly and try it again.

Logging a wideband on Link is like looking at the back of the math book while doing your homework. :shhh:

Tuning by knock tolerance and the narrowband front O2 sensor sucks!!!

The WB makes life so much easier, and you can rule out AFR issues when you are trying to get rid of knock and fine tune your car. Eliminating one more variable while learning to tune is great.

Personally, i think its a needed. Unless you plan on having a shop tune the car, and dont want to know how to mess with the tuning yourself. But if your interested in learning how to tune youve already made the good choice of dsm link. Now go get you a AEM wideband o2 or equivelant grab all the necessary supporting mods like jrolla stated. and hop on dsmlinks site and learn how to tune your dsm yourself. (probably grab a buddy to help you while you drive around with a laptop)

Ill be going down this road this summer =]
