I was moving the car tonight and notcied that when i hit the brake pedal all the lights dim for a second. They don't stay dim, but its wierd. I just had the starter and alternator replaced. Also the starter lags sometimes when i turn the key. Either Ill hold it on for 2-3 seconds before it responds or i have to rapidly turn the key over and over for it to start. Took it back to the shop and they said it was fine. Its a 94 Eagle Talon by the way. Also I havent had reverse lights or sidemarkers since ive owned it.

Great, thanks for the advice. Another weird electrical problem... Again, moving the car at night and my CD player keeps cuttin on and off. Sounds like th ecu behind it is shutting off too. The car lagged when trying to start, which ive gotten used to, but then when i turned on the lights, the cd player did its thing then, when i hit the brake, the whole car just died. No power for about a minute. No seatbelt moving, no buzzer... nothin. I dunno will the ground kit solve all this and how do i go about building it ? Or should i just drive it off a cliff? LOL thanx for any info u may have

my car did some things like that, namely the pressing the brakes and dying thing. i decided it wasn't the starter when it started right up with a jump, but i took out the battery and got it tested along with my alternator, and the guy said both were bad. i bought a new battery and drove it home and started to drop my old alternator, and when i went to take the orange/pink protective cap from the two output wire things the ring connectors just broke off. i would check the integrity of those connectors - i replaced mine with new ones from autozone and got the alternator retested...it was fine.

Either your battery or alternator is about done. Get the car running, then disconnect the battery. If the car dies it's the alternator, if not it's the battery. Or you can take them both off and take them to an auto parts store that tests them for free.

Thanx for all the great advice guys. The battery, alternator and starter are all brand new so ill go get everything tested. U guys are awesome :thumb:
