Guys, yes I am posting in the newbie forums because I had gotten out of the DSM world. Just recently, I purchased a 95 GST, my first turbo eclipse, for $600. When the person I bought it from said it had lifter tick I thought "that's an easy fix".
So anyways, I replaced all lifters (after priming with oil) and gave a fresh oil change using 10w-30, engine restore, and a K&N filter. When starting back up, the tick is still there. I let it warm up in hopes of the oil cycling to rid the tick, which it didn't. I revved up to 3k then all of a sudden there was what seemed to be a grinding like sound then the engine shut off. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place now. Can anyone seem to guide me in the right direction as to what the chances the actual problem is? Thank you for your time!
