I have read a couple of threads on ebay intercoolers but just wondering which ones out there that are actually good? Allot of them have something that goes like this

"Good for up to 500bhp(I have seen from 350-600). all our intercooler has been tested to withstand more then 80psi pressure and it has very small pressure drop across the end tanks, at 15psi inlet the out let has 14.8psi that means it has only 0.2 psi pressure drop ,compare to many other intercoolers it is an excellent figure (some intercooler has 1-2psi pressure drop) also at the same condition, the temperature has drop from 120 degree to 28 degree ( and it is an excellent figure for efficiency"

Is the above statement just a bunch of bs or true? Has anyone tried the Megan racing FMIC? I think it's crazy to spend 700+ on a core and piping. I really don't care about name brands I just want it to work. Kinda like a Dave Brode part or Megan Racing or Johnny Racecar FMIC all cheap but effective with great quality. Here are just a couple of FMIC I'm talking about that look good but do they perform and will they last? Please chime in if you have a ebay FMIC or had one especially if it worked or did not work well for you. thanks

Megan FMIC

No name brand but has the standard psi and efficiency spill

Street Imports FMIC

XOXO Core but has good feedback on the core

gsxtacy nice pics.. it will definitely help future owners.. i will also contribute my install pics when i come around to it..

do you have any pics without the front bumper to show the mounting points of the tabs?

now the only decision left is if i should modify the flange to fit my greddy type s.. (which once done is irreversible and then won't be able to use a 1g/forge bovs) or get a forge bov since I "think" my greddy is leaking.. go figure.. decisions decisions..

Well remember, Forge's sound pretty good and are a smidgin louder than 1g's and are capable of holding 30+ psi OMG :rocks: Retails usually for $150-170 Pending on where you go.

You also have to take into consideration that the Type-s production has been discontinued so good luck finding another Type-s for cheap :dsm:

Still waiting on an email from SS Autochrome Pending the sale of the 1g kit with a Group Buy rate....

:edit: Just sent SS Auto an email telling them roughly how many are interested. I should recieve an email either tonight or first thing in the morning where I will post first thing when you guys can send your information. Please remember that you have to include. Justin's DSMtuners GB to recieve the group buy rate.

Please refer to this page for later orders if you don't decide to order now.

I also included in the email yet another request for a 1g FMIC GB and they should let me know when they email me back.

What about it being a short route like you 2g guys?

Well, I just got the FMIC mounted. Unfortunately, since I'm using a 14b, the piping that's supposed to go from the turbo to the intercooler is short by 5 or 6 inches and offset by an inch. I'm taking it to a muffler shop this weekend to get the piping from the turbo (J-pipe) redone. But for now, I'm in poser mode, rolling around with a FMIC that's not even connected :coy:

Still waiting upon an email from them. If I do not recieve one today by noon then I will assume it will be okay for you guys to go ahead and send your information. But I was hoping you guys would wait to email them until it was okay to send it with the information at one whack so they don't recieve 465498465498765461 emails LOL

Just wanted to say thanks GSXTACY. Your pics are really going to make this alot easier. I'm installing mine this weekend since it was way to cold last weekend but I'll get pics up as soon as it's installed. I did have a chance to get my EVO III manifold installed though.:D

Oh well screw it, they havent responded to any emails that I have sent recently... I guess you can go ahead and send an email titled as. Justin's DSMtuners GB Payment Inside

then leave you information... I ordered mine yesterday LOL but mine was through money order... Good luck guys..

Im going to try to get them to let me do another one later on in like a week or three or two...so they'll still be able to market their products on ebay so they can still let some go for 350+ so they can still make some good profit.. Hope you guys understand.

You had said not to use our paypal account, but how are we supposed to send payment to them if that's what we want to do? I've sent them an e-mail via my personal e-mail, but they have yet to respond to me as well.

Edit: I just noticed you had said ebay account, not paypal account. So, for PAYPAL, are we sending payment to [email protected] or their paypal e-mail, which is [email protected]?

No they perfer to use paypal. She just told me tell you guys not to email them from your ebay account. Sorry for the confusion :(

the 2g kit should also fit the 1g's right? i only assume this because they are about the same length and size as the other short route tubing intercoolers that i have seen. either way you would have to trim some of the radiator support on both sides and that is about as hard as it gets. then there is a j pipe, but that is easy to get. does anybody here have a reason in which why this would not fit a 1g?
thanks for any help because this looks like a good buy.

No, I havent gotten a response from them yet. But I assure you guys, if they do not leave me an email by the time I get home from work tonight then I will be calling them first thing tomarow morning.
