Ok so looking to add a little more power, but I dont want to ruin the drivablitiy of my car. I have seen the ebay manifolds. But I thouhgt i heard about them cracking. Can I get some more info and insite.

If your looking for a little more power than dont go with an exhaust mani. You can get more power else where. Now with the ebay cast mani's those are fine. Seen many people run them with no problem. The cheap tubulars I would stay away from.

I have an ebay tubular manifold for my T3. I made sure when I built my downpipe I added a big support bracket to help reduce the stress of the weight of the turbo and it seems to be fine so far. I think I only paid $120 for it so it is pretty cheap but am on a tight budget. Also it is stainless. But as others have said you do get what you pay for but I am happy with mine. Travis

my friend runs a 12 second gst on a ebay tubular exhaust manifold. the trick is he took it to a machine shop and had a couple support brackets welded on for additional peace of mind.

DC Sport makes some nice 4 into 2 into 1 headers in ceramic coated or regular stainless for around $300 shipped (ebay) or $380 (retail). I wanted a set but I'm still running the el-cheapo $60 set. No complaints here but the connection to the downpipe could use improvement.

By the way.. the DC headers are planned out very well so that you dont have your cylinders fighting eachother. Definately on my list of things to buy in the next 6-12 months.

uhm, i think you're talking about a header for a 2g non turbo, the discussion in here is for exhaust manifolds for the turbo cars.

For a street car I wont run a tubular again unless if i came up with a block mounted turbo, I had a Pacesetter mani and it broke in half 2 times at the collector and broke all four tubes off probably 3 times each. they were rewelded by a certified welder.

I have a friend whose flange to the turbo broke right off on his manifold from ebay but I had one on for a year and never had a problem. They were both tubular manifolds.

It's been discussed umpteen times already. Simply put you get what you pay for. Any manifold can crack wether it's tubular or cast. Ebay one's are cheap because they don't use equal length runners, or very thick material to make thier manifolds. It won't add any power. Might help your spool but I doubt anything great. Port your 2g.

If you live in a climate like the midwest, where it goes from hot to cold in an hour .. with freezing winters, and steaming summers .. then you want to stay away from tubular manifolds.

They are going to crack reguardless of the price you payed for it. The more expensive ones might give you more power or last longer, but you can count on it to crack eventually.

first off it was warm summer/fall
second I put it on in August and all the I stuff I listed above happened until I put the cast one back on in late October

I had that header off almost every weekend for the most part rewelding it.

I agree with many here. Porting a stocker will gain you a fair amount of power and spool, plus the durability that you get with a cast stocker.
