Ebay Exhaust Manifolds

i been looking for a good exhaust manifold and was wondering what experiences people have had with ebay manifolds. Such as the OBX one for 400 witch is usually around 1300 on dsm for the real one. That's a original pacesetter tubular manifold. I've heard both good and bad things about them. I've read somewhere that they tend to crack, rust, and lose their color.
However, I know a guy who has one of these on his 1g and he has no problems with it whatsoever.
So, the choice is up to you. There's always somone who will say that it sucks and someone who will say that it works perfectly.

Oh and ive seen that manifold in person and picked it up/ inspected it. It felt solid and the welds looked good. Some kid was porting it and he took away a considerable amount of the flange/ collection area. So it can also be ported, if thats a feature you would like. Granted that was a year ago, so i dont know if they have changed thier design of it since then.

I actually won an auction for those exact same headers awhile ago for $110. After I had received the headers for a couple of weeks, I was reading about them on this website and it made me real leary as far as installing them cause they cracked and the welds broke often. Well, my brother bought it from me cause his stock exhaust mani cracked. We put the manifold on there and had no troubles. Still have it on there today, after 8 months and no problems. The heat coating job they did on there was terrible. It was smoking probley for the first day burning it all off. Other than that, nothing but positive results.

Ok, good info. The one i saw/ inspected was a real pacesetter manifold, so the knock off should be ok, if thats what it is. I mean there is a sticker there, but you cant tell if it is the official i.d.

Instead of buying it form ebay buy it from here:

Put in PSM-70-1225 for the part number and it will take you there, its the same price and everything. Well the ebay one is 4 cents cheaper, big deal
I have never had a problem with summit, and if there is, just return the part and get a refund/ replacement. Plus you could have it shipped tommarow.

Another ting too that I would like to bring up is that Pacesetter themselves have excellent customer service. I knew someone who had bought a downpipe from them and had a leak with it, he called them up, got a replacement right away. This happened a total of 3 times with this guy. Everytime, they replaced it for him. Good service.

Thanks for all of the information. Would you guys say this is a good performance manifold and will add a decent amount of power for the price or should i get a different model. And do you guys have any more ideas that will be better for more power but still at a decent price.

Pacesetter is a good brand of header but I don't know about a turbo hanging off of them. I haven't heard much about them on this board. I have heard a lot about the chrome tubular headers that are on ebay. From various threads on here, people have been able to hang some pretty good size turbo's on them without the trouble of cracking anymore. The company has really got it together. But that still leaves the fact that the ports are poorly designed on them even though they come ported. There are a few people on here with them on there car for over a year so...it's all up to you. This is the one I was refering too.

it says in the add it has carried cars into the 10's. Does anyone have any previouse experience with this manifold?

i had the pacesetter on my car and it cracked with in 5k, lost its color as soon as the motor was warm and was just not worth my time. the obx is great my buddy ran one and i looked amazing he only got rid of it for the dnp with the tial combo from sbr.

It appears identical to the cast Turbonetics manifold. It has actually carried cars in the 9s, (Marco, Magnus Motorsports). However I can't speak for the quality of the treadstone piece as it's obviously a copy.

I actually just bought one of the treadstone cast manifolds of ebay. I asked the guy selling them what was going on with them and he sent me this:

It is the exact same manifold that turbonetics uses, we just casted this
manifold about a month ago.
I have sold 3 units so far, one person email back and said they had to ream
out 2 or 3 bolt holes to line up. Another told me they put down over 500rwhp
with this manifold but had no problem with the bolt holes.
If you do a search for turbonetics manifold in the forums, you might get
some feedback on it.
