Lambo vertical Doors [Merged 8-7]

no not ever kit requires you to roll your fenders. most people i have talked to say they didnt have to until they got custom fiberglass fenders... As far as 90 degree doors, ya i think they are probably a little more convienent, but i personally dont think they look so good when they are opened. I dont know if anyone has seen the Cavalier the gm built with the full fiberglass dash and gauges, but it has a "form" of diablo doors, except they open a little like gullwing and a little like lambo.. The best lambo doors i have ever seen......If anyone knows if thats a kit send me the link..

sounds awsome i will try and look for that one now... but yea i like the 75 kit more and more, you can accualy get out of your car and shut them safely while sitting in the car...

Do you have any pics of your 75 degree assembly that are on tracks?

Check above, the pictures of the Del Sol are the 75 degree kit. Also on the first page there is a picture of a Celica and a Impreza (both with 75 degree kits).

Not a pic of the kit installed, the actual piece with tracks that you mentioned. All the kits out there that I know of have shocks.

these have shocks as well, but they have a track that makes the door start and stop at the same point every time... so even if the shock was to break why the door was opened (but not in the up possition) and just sticking out (you know before it goes up it swings out) it would not go anywhere. same with if it was all the way up... it would not go anywhere if it broke because it locks in place sort of. Its hard to expain and no sorry i dont have any pics but i can take some tonight if i get a chance. There is a pin that follows a groove in the material, then it reaches a hole, which the pin slides into, that means that unless that pin falls out (welded in) or the hole in the metal plate moves, then the door is guaranteed to hit the same spot every time. (by the way this design is patented)

Yeah thats why the marketing on custom car accessories is always changing. People get bored with the same old thing and start looking for new ideas, that is in fact how the tuner market began and how it will run on forever because people like and want to be different, to stand out. We are currently working on a new door hinge setup that has not been done before and will be quite expensive when it comes out but it will be completely custom. :)

I have the Quwhees wide body kit... I know I didn't spell that right haha, but with that kit, the fenders are flared out, obviously, but would it take alot of work to put lambo doors on cause of the front fenders?

Yeah i have a picture at my house now, just took it last night. I will post it up tomorrow morning.

ok, so how come no one has said anything about the diablo doors kit? If this link doesn't work look up chaser aerodynamics. Anyway this kit is "universal" but is anything but easy to install, probably needs to be done professionally. they have tons of pics and even a video sample on the site. the price is more than others, but it looks like it may be worth it. u get what you pay for u know? here's the link

Yea Im liking those alot... but im also not seeing any help or signs of them giving you instructions or any help on putting them on your model of car.... not even a number for help.. it just says that any intelligent person can do it... and its recommended to be shop done... i have no plans on bringing it to a shop but i also would have no clue where exactly to put them... mm for mm you know... :nono:

The kits i was talking about is very simple, just 4 bolts on the inner fender well and 4 bolts on the front end of the door. Thats it you are done. Oh yeah well you have to screw in the shock to the holes in the kit, but thats easy as well. Those kits are good, but the universal kits are not something that you really want to get involved with. They work fine for a while, but eventually start to sag, and also misalign causing costly repair damage when you bend the fender or chip some paint.

I agree with him. I've seen 2 universal kits that sag. Do you have pics of your kit yet?

I am annoyed as all hell, about people getting really emotional over a 42 pound weight addition (Mine weigh 21 pounds a piece). The same people that try to justify not spending a little on spicing up the exterior, are the same people that will put in a 50 pound subwoofer or something along those lines. Should i drive naked too, for weight reduction? Wake up, to some people the extra 20 pounds each side is worth what they pick up in style points (if its your thing.) Just like some people find a use for the 50 pounds a sub and amp adds to their weight, because they value musical noise.

Grow up, mind your own, if you want them, buy them, if you don't like them, don't buy them and keep it to yourself. Enough of this discussion.

I agree with you but people who complain about the 42 pounds don't have a fixed sub/amp setup.

Think about my current/future setup for a second:
VIS G Speed CF Hood - 10 to 15 pounds lost (not sure)
17" Motegi Traclite wheels - 40 pounds lighter compared to stock 17s
Sub box, subs and amp - Out of the car at a drag strip
Stock interior, padding under carpet removed.

Do you think after spending $1500 in wheels and a hood for weight loss, I'd add 42 pound lambo doors to my car?! Probably not. If I never planned on taking it to a track, I wouldn't care about the weight. Then again, I could go on a diet and lose 40 pounds. Some people modify their cars for style and looks while others do it for speed or the drag strip and some try to do both.

Jesus, stanfords first post was a joke, not meant to be taken seriously. The discussion pertaining to weight ended weeks ago when I posted this to clarify. See below:

Jeez, do any of you guys actually read through the posts.

Stanford said:
I will sell you a 50lb bag of shit for a grand and you'll get the same results.

Then all the dead weight of Lamorghini doors will be covered by the fact that it's 50lbs of shit.

Not once did he say that the hinges weighed 50 lbs, he just said he'd sell you a 50lb bag of shit. That bag of shit would help you achieve your goal of more attention.

Stanford said:
Everyone will be looking at you, which is obviously what you want. Because a swarm of maggots and flys will follow you everywhere like papparazzi. This will draw lots of attention.

Alot of people are more about looks then speed...... Although its nice to have speed... girls dont care how fast your car is, they dont like mustangs because they are fast, same with eclipses... they like them because they look good, therefore i prefer for my car to look good... speed is second in my book and will only kill you or get you in trouble

Exactly, I was just kidding with the guy. You need not get butt hurt because one person doesn't like how you mod your car. It must be miserable caring what everyone thinks and getting upset when they don't like your car, especially when someone is just joking. I mean I am serious, I don't like them but my post was a joke. I was not trying to make anyone cry.
