Lambo vertical Doors [Merged 8-7]

LOL this is funny. i really think it depends on the car you are putting the lambo doors on, ie mustang looks horrible, talon looks good with 75 kit...

and it all depends on a persons taste, im sure you will get alot of negative feed back with a lambo door kit on your car from hotroders and drag strip guys but the girls and young kids would love the car, just saying

as for me i dont car what others think i just car if my girl likes it LOL ROFL

Lol, i dont care what any "Guy" thinks, as long as the girls like it! Damn skippy!!

Hey, I was getting excited about the vert door kit that sk8shorty01 was talkin about. Why no pics yet? When is the website going to be finished with construction?:nono:

Eh.....skip it and spend your money on performance instead, they always seem kinda cheezy to me.;)

If I tell you the truth about them does everyone promise to stop asking?

I did mine took me a day basically morning to night to do it. Bumpers gotta come of both front fenders etc all that forward junk. Hinges are a snap to install just shut your door and use a good quality masking tape and run a few strips up the window to the hood etc all around. Use a couple pieces of bent cardboard to keep your door gaps and unbolt the stock hinges and bolt your new hinge on. Now you can untape the door and shove it all the way up FENDERS OFF and put the shock in. Don't forget to unhook your original door stopper. Now bring it back down gentle and try to close it slowly its going to hit hard on the latch so make adjustments to the height adjuster to get it to close smooth. Now you have to remove your inner fender lip do it however you want. Then you will probably have to grind the edge off the hinge (you may want to do this before installing I didi) otherwise you can't get it to open far enough to clear the lambo stopper and it will hit and take the paint off the edge of your fender! That about sums it up alot of fitting and playing to get them to open close once thats done then put your car back togeather and brag. Now wait till it gets about 10* cooler out from when you did the install now the shocks won't hold the doors up and they will droop now the doors don't align anymore WTF so plan on having to hold up on them to close them and if you ride around with girls good luck. Now wait till its 10* hotter now the doors will hang higer (more pressure in the shock) and the will hit the strikers, so now you have to hold down to close it.

As you can see they look cool as a daily driver no freakin way would I do it again. For my car I dirve maybe 5x a month its cool.

hey if the front fenders are molded (into rockers and front bumper) can you get at the shocks of the hinge without taking off the fender
seeing how its impossible to take off the fender now LOL
someone told me that if theres a pin holding it in that you just take that out and you can get it out without taking off the fender

and i have to add if you can take it out can you replace it just as easy?

I put mine on without taking the fenders off (theyre molded) i trimmed alot of the fender out though and used wrenches with the ratchet end, then put the shocks in afterwords, worked fine but very difficult to adjust.

Interesting... :sneaky:

I just installed mine this weekend and it was a breeze. you have to shave off some of the hinge to get it to install right and open the most but that is nothing if you have a angle grinder or something. I would DEFINATELY go to the parts store and buy ATLEAST grade 5 washers because most of the washers that the kits come with are very soft and just go into the holes. Most of the hinges have the holes cut with a freaking torch or something and are twice as big as the bolts that are going in but all in all for 400$ I LOVE mine and nobody around here has them so it'll work for my extra bit of attention. I'm not gonna kit it so I needed alittle something. I'll have pictures as soon as I get my camera back.

If any one has or can get good detailed photos of a factory made hinge for Lambo doors, I would appreciate a look at them,,, I am trying to build them for my kids car , and do not wish to spend $1200.00

Thanks,
Jim

The first car we did it on was a car with the fenders molded in. you can still get to everything. Sorry i did not post pictures up of teh doors, i completely forgot about this post and that i was supposed to do that. I will work on getting those pictures from my business partner ASAP and let you see what they look like. Sorry for the delay all, with 100+ emails a day (not including over 100 sponsorship proposals), plus all the other hassles of running a business (easy to forget things every now and then). I will work on that soon. Again sorry.

Looks cool but WAY too much of a pain to get in and out of.

Their not that bad. I'm quiet skinny so I don't need the door open all the way. Half the time I never picked the door up, I just left it down when I got out.

400 ish for mine from ebay they work alright.

You actually got an eBay kit? When you say alright, I'm thinking that your door doesn't seal up right at the bottom. I had a Decah kit, and it always stuck the door out 3/4" at the bottom. I adjusted and adjusted, but nothing would pull that in, so I had to live with it until I got rid of them.

What problems are you seeing with them, cause I wouldn't mind getting these again for my talon. A dailydriver really is a PITA with these, but a car that I only drive every-so-often wouldn't be bad. Do I want the weight add though

My doors fit as good as factory when closed they are perfect in that sense. My saying they are alright is that the doors hang or rise depending oh heat so sometimes they hit the strikers and you have to hold up on them another time they will be to high you have to hold down on them. This is depending on the pressure inside the shock. Other then that no real complaints. Also if its really cold out sometimes the shocks don't have enough pressure to hold the door up and they will not stay up.

This is why we designed our kits differently. Just wait a little while and your shock will weaken and your door will start to sag. Well, anyways that is the problem i have seen with most of the doors anyways. Here is a picture of our hinges on a car we did a while ago. Let me know if you need anything else. Oh and by the way i hope your kit doesnt end up sagging later on that would really suck. Hope this is what you were looking for.

Also, if you look at that kit from ebay, it is smashing the hoses that enclose the wiring harness for the doors, our kits are made to go around that so that it does not eventually cut through your wiring and cause a lot of hassels later on. Just something else i noticed that i figured i would point out. Thanks

Thanks that does look like a much better design you already have my attention to bad I have the $$ in these but I'll run em till they drive me crazy then switch. I did fix the wiring smashing problem though with a little help from the freakin plasma cutter. I only did them because its not a daily driver otherwise I would never do lambo's again. If you have a website or something pm me the info I'd like to check it out.

<Insert old post disclaimer here>

That silver 1G looks pretty killer. I am in agreement though that lambo doors only look good on a car that has a fair bit of body mods (like this one). I mean it looks like a totally different car.

As long as it's as fast as it looks...friggin sweet. Is this person a member here? I'd like to see more pics, and I'm curious what's under the hood.

I'd drop the windshield decal though unless it's a sponsor. I wouldn't want any badging of any kind on it.

I have been interested in putting lambo doors on my 95 eclipse. What do you think about those doors in general? Are they worth it? Are there any drawbacks about them? Does anyone have any for sale that arent too expensive or do you know where I might be able to get some for cheap?
