Lambo vertical Doors [Merged 8-7]

Well I know there has been alot of threads about 1Gs with lambo doors well I founbd a pic so I thought I would post it.

In my opinion... that's ugly. I wouldn't call the 1g a show car, so I find it really unnecessary to do that. Or maybe it's those chrome fender flares

I agree I think it is the lack of rims, the fender flares and no kit.

alot of people call 1Gs ugly but I still think they are better looking than a civic. I personally think they are nice looking cars.

When done correctly 1gb's are dead sexy, i'm not a huge fan of the 1ga's though. IMO anything is better than a civic ... ricers in my area have killed my view on every honda stock or modified except for the s2k

I was in no way saying they are ugly at all... I like them. But for the majority of people that don't know anything unless you drive a 2g.. well. I've had people ask what kind of car I drive, I tell them it's an Eclipse, they ask what year and I tell them it's a 91. There only reply is "Oh". Or I have people looking at my car, trying to figure out what the hell it is because it's not a brand new car with Mercedes or Jag symbols. :thumbdown

cars with full window frames (like the 1g) should not have lambo/scissor doors

cars should not have chrome fender sh!t like that...no matter what kind of car

if the car was lowered and had nice wheels, it would look a little better

personaly i think the 1g could make a great show car. It would be a nice change from seeing all the 2g show cars

but i also dont think that car is headed in the right direction if its destened to be a show car ... keep it clean, keep it simple, and above all, keep it funtional

that looks completely terrible. stock wheels, stock ride height, stock paint, and chrome fender trim?
this is why mods like this get ruined. people do it to their cars as their first mod, and then flash it around all the time (as im sure that person does) :thumbdown

I agree with most of you guys that 1st gens are not for "show" but I have seen a few 1st gens that managed to pull it off.

Lambo doors are annoying for everyday use. I wouldn't put them on a daily driver, and that's what it looks like that 1g is.

i see alot of threads here that talk about lambo doors...most of them have pics and then people just dogg them and say things like "keep lambo doors on cars that come stock with them" or whatever... but, i just want to get feedback from people who actually have them. ive heard horror stories of people's doors getting blown around in the wind or hinges or joints etc breaking. is there any kits that users have had no probs with? (meaning install and then daily use) price really isnt a factor so dont worry about that. thanx for any feedback

I don't have lambo doors but you will lose them if it is windy outside. I personally use to think they were cool until now everyone has them. It's like the blitz body kit...probably one of the coolest kits ever made for the eclipse but most people have it. Save your money spend it else where. Go buy baer brake kits the last I seen them they were $645, and that would be spending your money wisely.

im rather annoyed with people bitching about them. if you dont like them don't get them. my kit opens wide enough to use the doors the conventional way, without having to flip them up or pull a pin or anything. if its windy, leave them down, be smart with them and keep them adjusted properly and there should be no problem.

i do beleive that alot of those threads have experiences from people who have them. you have to read around the people who say dont get them, unless of course they themselves have them and say dont get them because of their experiences.

personally i think they look okay on certain cars, they look good on 2gs, but definitly not on 1gs.

also fill out the "car profile" section so that it appears under your username, comes in handy sometimes

i have a 1990 eagle talon tsi, im having trouble finding a vertical door kit for my car, does anyone know if theres a company that makes them for this model? the only ones i can find are for the 95 and up, and is there a big difference in the door hinges between the 90-94 style and the 95-99 style? any help would be greatly appreciated

You're gonna get flamed a bunch for this, but, I honestly don't think a lambo door kit would look good on a 1g. They have the frame around their window, so it would look kinda awkward when the doors are open, don't you think? Don't mean to be disrespectful, just my 2 cents.

it is def the correct forum maybe he is just against vertical doors or somthing...id check on ebay they may have somthing there or maybe pick up a import tuner mag and look for vendors in there .... im pretty sure som 1 makes them ..even if there not listed in there mag ad they still may make them jus give em a call or hit up the websites

okay so i decided i want to go with verticle im going with a vdi knock off kit (but its high quality. friend ordered one for his jbody so i know) only because i am gettin a amazing deal on the kit in return i have to provide pics of them installed for the website. but anyway i am just wondering how hard it is to get at the door hinges on the eclipse now i did the install on the cavalier and i had to remove the hood and fenders just to get at the hinges im hoping i dont have to go through that with the clipse. If anyone knows please let me know also the location of all the bolts ill need to remove to get access to them. Also i havent seen any cars on this site yet with them just wondering if there are any and if they would post some pics so i can get a idea of what it looks like on a eclipse.
