i have a 97 gsx and i wanna get lambo doors. whats the cheapest i can get it for ??? :dsm: :dsm:

no matter how cheap you find it you going to need labor work unless you do it yourself... but ive seen them sell for about 900$... look online but thats only if you have the internet.

Take it from someone who has seen it..do NOT go cheap on something as big as a vertical door kit...doors are heavy..and usually the cheaper kits are using cheaper materials, and the biggest place they skimp is what the use to hold them up. Ok now..think of your hatch...the pneumatic struts, we know know they're not great, and tend to fall easily, similar pneumatic arms are used for vertical kits... doors are HEAVY...you dont want them falling, a friend of mine nearly lost a foot because a vertical door fell closed, he barely pulled it out in time.

Ther are some kits that go for about $1500, they use electric actuators....I'd suggest these if you're gonna be getting in and out ALOT(ID:daily driver), otherwise buy a vertical kit from autoloc or another REPUTABLE door kit place. To make it easy..here's a list of the problems I've found with most of the cheaper kits.

1) Major mounting issues, usually costing you more in bodywork/labor than a good kit.
2) cheap construction, wear out quickly or break.
3) dangerous when/if #2 happens.
4) despite cheaper construction, some kits tend to weigh more
and finally...
5) most GOOD kit makers will include a wiring extention(when you specify)
for your doors instead of you having to lengthen them yourself...saving time and making things neater.

There are also several different kit styles, there are direct bolt on and weld in applications. Also some kits, usually the more expensive ones, will come with harness extensions. Just think of all the work you will need to do to lenghten every wire that goes into your door. You have windows, speaker, power locks..... Going cheap with a verticle door kit is like cheaping out on a turbo, sooner or later the weak link will become exposed and in the hinge case your door will be lying on the ground.
I worked at a shop for a little while, on the side, and he swore by GT Factory (or something like that) weld in kits. I think that their fabrication and price leave a lot to be desired. Take for instance: he was custom fabbing up a kit for a mercedes, this required that the 1/2" welded lip be cut down to 1/4". He cut about 3/4s of the way through the lip and decided to break the rest off with a hammer. To his surprise the weld cracked way before the already cut piece of metal. After closer inspection the welds really did suck, they had no penetration whatsoever.
I personally think that there is a limit to where you can cut corners trying to save money. Engine parts, no. Body parts - well if the fit isn't perfect you can play with it a little. Verticle doors - the door comming down on your own head is one thing, but on someone else's that is a different ball game. You will be sued and you will quickly wish that you had bought the better kit.

you get what you pay for.. you can spend $1500 on the proper set or you can just spend $15 & get this..

hi
germany need ya help again...

im collecting pics and tech articels from any installed lambo vertical door kits
with pics n stuff

for any help thx

How much do you guys think a shop would charge to do it? I wanted to get it done to my ride once I'm done performance mods and my interior.

I have no idea what this entales. I'm looking for information on these "lambo kits" to see what kind of parts it comes with and what type of labor is required. I work at a very respectable collision center so I could probably give you some type of estimate after I find out more information about these kits. Does anyone have any info???
