Ok, I've searched the forums, and tried to figure this out on my own. so far i've had no luck. I'm hearing a knocking noise that sounds like its comming from the lower part of the drivers side (like the alternator, or the power steering pump) but i know it can't be those parts. So first i checked the timing, which was correct so i didn't have the belt slip ect.
I just had the timing belt done w/ a kevlar belt, and new balance shaft bearings and belts, new water pump, and new acc belts around the car. All this was done about 4months ago. Just recently this noise started. I also checked my oil and it was at the normal level. So i went and tried to get a vid of the noise to see what you guys think.

I checked the exhaust manafold for bolts missing ect also, and found none.
After reading the boards, i'm beginning to think its either rod knock or a spun bearing.
As for the car, it runs great and i've had no problems driving it, so i'm pretty much at a loss.

Any help would greatly appricated.
Thanks,
-Marty

i don't know why the first video will not post properly, the link is ending my first vid with the charcter # when it should be 7#, i tried to correct this alot, but it will not work for some reason, so if somone would like to see the first vid, just copy and paste this

Into your browser and it should work

Thanks again,
-Marty

EDIT i give up, i can't get that last charcter to show the letter # instead of the symbol # so if # wanna see the other vid, just copy and paste that whole link, and erase the # and change it to the letter "#"

My engine had that knocking noise also. It is pretty common on most dsm's from what everyone has told me. I did a oil change and put a quart of Lucas oil in with it and the knock went away after a day. my friend jay has a 3000gt and he used engine restore and put it in with his oil change and it went away. Someone told me the knock will come back and i will have to use Lucas again but it works. I don't know if the knock we have is the same but mine came from the same place your's was coming from. It is gone now however and i thank the Lucas oil god's for there help. that noise made me so mad.

Well I can't get either video to work which is probably the computer I'm on, so I'll wager a guess.
It's more than likely lifter tick. Which as 95DsmTsiauto said is normal.
You can replace your lifters if ya want, but it's not really needed.
If you're really really bothered by it and want to make sure run a compression test and make sure you're up to par. Then drop your oil pan and inspect the rod bearings for damage and wear.
