so, just want some input folks. what do people think about the kinetic "race" fmic kit with short route piping? just picked a whole kit brand new for 200 bucks . its got 2.5" piping. do you think this will be good enough for a hx35 or hx40 on 25+psi? let me know about YOUR experience with the kit and how you like it.

If you are only considering around 25psi, then go the hx35. As for the core, it seems it'll be good.

well im considering doing 25 psi for dd'ing, and then 35 psi on the weekends. i was just afraid that the intercooler would be too big for what im doing

It would be too big for a stock turbo that's not moving much CFM. The hx35/40 is moving up to 70lbs/min so with that in mind, you want to make sure the IC isn't too small

Kinetic was making SBR intercoolers for years. I don't think you will outflow it, at least not with hx35/40.

True, but you can buy Kinetic things at Kinetic Motorsports for a cheaper price and to avoid SBR mishandling the package which in several cases I've seen especially with the intercooler cores being damaged and bent fins all over the place.

well i dont have to worry about shipping, ### i just took the 45 mins to drive to colorado, and picked it up for a friggin steal of 200 bucks. so with that outta the way . i guess i will be fine with an hx35 on 35 psi?

Yes, a hx35 @ 35 psi will be put far from outflowing it.
