SBR RACE(Kinetic) FMIC issues

I'm trying to install this second hand intercooler. It is an older short route from Slow Boy which was made by Kinetic. Now my problem is (and i will add photos shortly) that when it goes to bolt it up the top of the front mount hits the bumper support in the middle of the front end.

Has anyone tackled this installation and can give me any advice?

Try and loosen up the couplers connecting to the FMIC and playing with them until you have adequate space. I had to do that on my ets install. Fits perfectly!

Thanks for the input but that doesnt seem like it's going to do it. It seems like i need to hack at the bumper skin support but I really want to steer clear of that

You are talking about the crash beam correct? I removed mine when i first installed my FMIC but since reinstalled it. Just cut it so the intecooler fits nicely.

No, not the crash beam. the actual metal support residing in front of the hood latch. My core is hitting before my mounting tabs are in location.

I cut the center bracket off of mine so I could mount mine high and clear the center support here's a photo of mine
I had to also cut the bumper brackets in order to lift it this high to clear also

But also I relocated my PS cooler line to a different style setup also to help clear everything

i cut my center brace out and bolt in the the stock lower bolt hole and to the bumper bolt hole with a piece of flat stock steel. If you want a pic and can take one since the car is apart waiting on the 2.4 to get done at the manchine shop.

I don't know about the 2g version, but my 1g version had to have aluminum pins welded into the endtanks to keep them from cracking off the core.
