Do I have the SBR/Kinetic FMIC endtank leak?

Looks like my old (bought used for $100) SBR/kinetic FMIC core has looks on the endtank welds facing away from the car. Are these easy to repair? Can any I just take it to any welder and have them fix it? Are the cores even worth keeping? Thanks.

If they are just pinhole leaks in the weld bead or tanks any competent welder should be able to repair it fairly easily

I cant physically see the leaks but it spans about 2 inches down the weld on both sides.

I have the same intercooler, it worked great but always cracked. I had aluminum posts welded in the endtanks connecting the front and back panels. This stopped the tanks from ballooning and cracking the welds.

I had the same core. Blew the welds like crazy. The end tank metal is too thin. My Local welder cut open the tanks, reinforced the back side with bracing and re welded the inner/outer of the rear sheet metal. Than he put thicker front sheet metal. It has held 35+psi since.

These cores are good, it's a shame they used such thin metal on the tanks.
