Kill switch?

I want to hook up a kill switch (for security reasons) using a low voltage wire that will disable fuel pump. Where do I find a convenient place to splice into that wire?

If you do the fuel pump rewire, putting a switch in either the ground wire for the relay coil will do the job and be limited in current by the relay coil so a short won't burn the car down.

Otherwise you can interrupt the output from the ECU to the MPI relay to turn on the pump with the switch.

Can I find that wire right at the MPI relay? Would you know what color it is? Thanks!

The proper wire is in different places per year of car even between 2g A and B as well as talon to eclipse split, but the manual will tell you where and whgat color wire and you can get a manuak fre by googling dsm service manual .pdf m(i probably have 5 gigs of DSM manualks i've saved over the years)


Best bet is to do a rewire and tap into a relay that the OEM pump power wire turns on, then put your switch in that and don't tell anyone where it is (especially on a public forum) I doi them for customers all the time on all kinds oif cars, and i usually will surprise them unless they know where they want them, and even then i telll them that really i shoulodn't even know is they way they should look at it, so no showing it off tro friends since the people that usually will steal from you or rob you are peopl that know you in one way or another

but great idea, if everyone had a kill, there'd be a lot less stolen cars, given if a theif wants it, there's NO way to stop them from getting it, but it will stop the punk teenager, young 20's joy rider, but some one who really wants it will bring a tow truck if they have too.

I forgot about the starter input to the MPI relay which would let the car start for a few seconds and then die. If you don't mind that, you're looking for the white/red wire running from ECU pin 56 to MPI relay pin 7.
