Kill switch installation

I checked the search list and didn't find info I wanted so here goes. I've been wanting to install kill switches for awhile now. Got locations I intend on placing them, as well as switches I'm gonna use. I'm not new to wiring and electronic components either. Is there away I can hook up a battery kill switch that doesn't kill power to the stereo? This way I wouldn't have to reset all the settings each time I hit the kill switch. If not, would I just be better off putting in a starter or ignition kill instead?

I think the easier route would be just to install the start/ignition kill switch. I have that in my car and works like a charm and I don't have to worry about resetting my electronic equipment.

Nice. Where in your ignition system did you hook in the switch? I.e. which wire to splice into, which section is best for using?

You should also consider a switch to the fuel pump, that way the car won't get any gas even if someone has your keys, plus it's harder to track down.

I'm actually not 100% on that, it was installed when I bought the car a few years ago. I can try to check into it, but maybe someone else can chime in sooner than I can.

Fund out which cable they spliced into.. Maybe take a picture if possible!! I might add a kill switch too!

I agree, pictures would be great if possible. I do plan to run one with the fuel pump as well. Can't be too overly cautious these days. Truck got broken into this morning... again. So gonna get an alarm for it and the spyder, but the spyder is trying the kill switches too.

Yeah, for now security reasons. Eventually race reasons. (sorry took so long to reply, didn't know there were anymore)
