I never said that I love hondas actually the only real reason I dislike them is because they're fwd (again no offense gst owners) they're just not for me but honda is starting to come out with some good motors and yes all I was doing was asking a queastion and it was answered rather rudely by some but I dont care they can go eat shit but to who answered the queastions with courtesy thank you.

You know, thats a good question. I got hit pretty hard in lacrosse the other day and think it may have hurt something. Then i went out and spent 500 dollars on my dsm. THAT I DONT HAVE. I think something is wrong.

and VTEC is rather enticing to me because it would b a very good set up especially on an awd platform rather than a fwd (no offense gs-t owners). That is why the RB series engines all have some sort of timing control.

just cause its on the RB dosent mean it was designed for AWD i have a GST as well as a Twinturbo 300zx and the Z has whats called (VTC) Variable timing Cam as does the RB. So your pre-notion that the the RB's have VTC cause there AWD is completley crap. its just a nissan's standered in preformance.

The K20 head....or any head that has lift control on bolth the exhaust and intake valves would be very beneficial, for a daily driver. It would give you drivability 2nd to none. Why, because those motors have 2 profiles, each profile has a lobe designed for PEAK horsepower at a certain rpm range. A huge profile doesnt work well at low rpm, runs bad idles bad, wastes alot gas etc. etc. But of course is needed for pulling like a man at high rpm. No one on here should say anything about honda duel cam motors because there isnt a mitsubishi engine naturally aspirated that could hang with those motors stock for stock on a dyno..period. Or better yet mod for mod...doesnt really matter those motors pull really well at low rpm, and high rpm because a profile designed for MAX power at bolth ranges. When i said pull really well i mean against another n/a motor of the same size.

Just wondering if a K20a2 head would bolt on to a 4g63 bottom end. Yes I know its Honda but the head flows very well, vtec and revs to 8k+ but anyway would it bolt on or is the bolt pattern different?

Hondas can perform, look at Stephanie Eggum who is only .2 slower than the quickest AWD DSM doing it with wrong wheel drive. Granted it's not really much of a Honda anymore, but how much of Shep's is the same as your car?

I don't think there are any serious race cars that keep the VTEC system. Drag racing they don't, this much I know.

VTEC and other variable valve timing arrangements are really only good for the street, where different cam profiles can be helpful. If you can't deal with a lopey cam and a small degredation of gas mileage, you should really not be named need4speed

It really won't be better with AWD. With the stutterbox you can setup for these cars you can launch, under boost, above where the VTEC would normally kick in anyways. After you've launched you should, again, be keeping the revs above VTEC. This is why nobody who races Hondas bothers with it. It's another thing to break, and it's not really useful when you are going wide open at all times.

So you reaaaalllyy need your valve cover to say HomoCo (I don't blame you!). Go to a parts store, get a head gasket for the Honda, and the DSM. If the bolt holes line up, there is a way. Anyone who doesn't believe me, I can send them some links of the TD guys stealing the 420A heads and putting them on minivan engines It will take a lot of work, a lot of time, and you really wont be gaining anything as far as all out power goes.

Buy a honda already. I'm surprised defiant hasn't put this in the DEAD END THREADS SECTION..

A big part of DSMs is how cheap they are, and how significantly cheaper they are to make REALLY REALLY FAST compared to other platforms. And there we got Honda's beat, esp. having AWD.

I think to most of our DSM community, mixing honda into anything DSM is bad. IMO the swap is a crazy idea, but if you get it done you'll have every import magazine at your door. Especially if you throw a bunch of Mugen and spoon stickers on your DSM.

I am not a huge Honda fan, but you cannot deny the fact that their engineering is phenomenal. They often come out with things far ahead of its time, or the refine things to a point of perfection.

i think whoever posted this question should sell there DSM and buy a honda... then you can go on www.hondatuners.com and ask them if your AWD gsx transmission will bolt up to your D16Y6 honda motor!
